Drones right now are very slow. They take very long to get to a target, and that makes them a bad weapon in the current PvP setting where Battleships can be pulverized within seconds.
Every Missile user understands the problem only too well, you're already dead before your missiles even get there, same thing is true with drones, only drones are much much slower then missiles.
Now, drones are essentially NPC, and as far as I understand it some NPC use MWD as well as Afterburners to get to you, why can't drones do the same thing while traveling to their target?
The main concern with fast drones would be that if they orbit at extreme speeds they can't be shot down, which of course should remain an option. But if they only go fast while aproaching a target or returning to their ship, the problem with drones taking forever to get to a target would be solved without making drones too hard to kill once they orbit.
Drones could have a 200% AB which they use as soon as they go in a straight line. That way when they aproach the target or return to their ship they would go plenty fast, however, once they get there they would orbit at their current top speeds so they can still be shot down.

Drones actually do MWDs to approach their target with/return with but it seems bugged as they only rarely use it.

They seem to always use it if theyre autoattacking something, but if you order them to a target, they take their ******* time.

My drones only seem to take their time getting back to me, they are always eager to shoot the target I tell them too.

Hmm, never noticed that they acctually do use those modules, when I make them fight something they always take half a minuite to even get to the target at max range and then when they get damaged I can't scoop them because they take just as long to come back while flying in a perfectly straight line...

Those damn rogue drones must have started agitating our drones. Next thing you know the damn things will want a health plan and wages.

Well, acctually I wouldn't mind if drones would look out for themselves a bit more, their suicidal tendencies are pretty frustrating to the droneship-pilot too...

Nah, you want both sexes. Stick one of each in a Domi's bay, leave it a week and... well let's just say drone interfacing 5 won't cut it.

Drones MWD to their target but there's a bug with them. They all activate and deactivate their MWDs at the same time, meaning if the group is split slightly, half of them get in range and the hal;f that are not in range drop their mwd and slowly chug along to the target.
