getting a little off topic here. I want to see more botter tears, they are WAAAAAAAAAY sweeter than carebear tears. _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

Very much enjoying this thread and every update.
As a small aside, what is the "Time dilation" they were talking about at Fanfest? I can't seem to find a reference to it anywhere, and it intrigues me.

Wow actually sounds awesome. It will give people a chance to actually have reinforcements have an impact on the outcome. _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

I should also note, the ratter program has a feature that checks local for neuts and cloaks up when they jump into system. Keep that in mind the next time you read a "Nerf the AFK cloakers" thread.
^^^^
Have seen this many many many times while roaming around null sec. At any rate, props to Orthar (sp?) for taking so much heat. This really is making my day _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

Awesome news. I also have a botter if people are bored, name of BloodyDog, he's located in ZK- something or other in Branch, surrounded by Razor alliance systems (the botter is neutral). He is logged on 23/7 in a tengu that is fitted so you can't probe him out, and when nobody is in system, he goes belt ratting.
I've been camping him for about 5 days now and stay logged on cloaked and afk as much as I can so his bot program prevents him from warping to belts. He is getting really really angry with me and talked to me in local once (now, you're going to say that means he's not a bot, but i assure you he is, he logs on immediately after downtime and doesn't log off until downtime the next day.) Another raeson I firmly believe he is a bot is because as soon as I log on he always warps to his safe spot and arrives approximately 3-5 seconds after I log on, meaning he initiates warp immediately upon me logging into system, any time of day. (I've tried logoffski trapping him in belts, but timing the bot to see how long it takes it to start ratting again is nearly impossible).
Anyways, I would surely welcome more coverage so even when i'm sleeping he will be camped and won't make any isk. (if you're capable of coming out or live in Branch already)
This really seems to be the best way (unfortunately) to eliminate botters currently, just by camping the ratting bots so they don't rat any longer, the bot owners get SUPER frustrated.
I have also reported him to CCP and hope to see him banned soonish :)
At any rate, cheers guys! let's get em! -Feral

The bot i've been camping for several days seems to be missing today! Maybe CCP banned the ratting tengu null sec bot! NICE! _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

So I saw a bot in null sec and camped him for 5 days, telling him to pay me 2bil to go away. I also reported him as a bot. He got banned before I got paid. Bittersweet I guess _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

Edited by: FeralShadow on 05/05/2011 22:59:39 How about this:
BloodyDog
An individual that I watched attempting to rat in a null sec system near where I lived for a week and a half. He would log on every day after downtime, rat constantly, and then get kicked off by downtime the next night. When I arrived, he stopped ratting all day long while I was there, and then when I would go to bed, downtime would kick us off, and he'd be back ratting directly after downtime until I managed to log in again in the morning. Not only was he ratting, but as SOON and i mean IMMEDIATELY upon myself entering local his ship would initiate warp and arrive at his safe spot he had (he was in unprobe-able tengu setup). I could tell he immediately warped upon me entering system because regardless of when I logged on or how long i waited to log back on, he'd always end up in the safe spot approximately 3-5 seconds after I logged in. Obvious bot is obvious.
Long story short, I petitioned CCP about him being a potential bot, the next day he mysteriously logged off mid-day (he's never done that before), and since then I haven't seen him online once.
There's a name of a botter banned. (Obviously you can't confirm he's banned, but the evidence is strong).
So there's a bit of proof.

Eve is a pretty big neighborhood, and the population density of the rural countryside (null sec) isn't high. So, the only way to 100% guaranteed tell he was banned is if CCP confirms it. Short of that, nothing's going to be good enough is it _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

Depends on what you focus on in life. The bottom line (money/isk per hour) or the adventure (dont care about the money/isk per hour). There are both people playing the game, and interestingly those who are all about the isk/hr are generally career miners and mission runners, as it is a "sure thing" that they can gauge their isk/hr on. It's a mind set that increasing your isk/hr gained means you're playing better, and for them that is fun. Other people like myself aren't concerned with hard "evidence" like isk/hr, and more on the feeling of fun and enjoyment as a gauge.
It's simply a different way of looking at the game. It's a bit early for me, hope this post wasn't too confusing :).

All the null sec bots are in unprobeable tengus (or ones with cloaks for doing sanctums). The only place you'd get with them is camping them for weeks. However, I can confirm it works... I camped one for two weeks. In the beginning, I just thought he was a persistant ratter (sometimes you find them), and I demanded protection money from him... mafia style. Then when I got no response for several days, I got suspicious, continued to camp, then petitioned him and reported him as a bot with my findings, and in 2 days he didn't log in mysteriously, and I haven't seen him since.
It does work, but it's boring as hell. _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura
