I recall the day these new ships were placed on the market. I logged on and heard buzz about new items/ships that were new to TQ. I quickly pulled up the market and saw logistics crusiers! I view the pictures of each races ships and quickly decide that IÆd like to fly one (the guardian is one pretty ship). Before ending my current training and starting my journey to own and fly one of these I decide not to be rash and check the stats on these beauties (as I had previously only looked at the description only). My jaw then dropsà.how could they make these ships so crappy?!?! They get to use medium transfer arrays only? Sorry ranges, poor defense, and small bonuses. How could CCP make these ships require so many skills yet be so, soà..lame? IÆve read everyoneÆs ideas and many I can agree with, some donÆt make sense and others have the wrong idea. First and foremost, CCP needs to think outside the box on these ships, much like they have with the new transport ships. They need bonuses no other ships have. These are ships that donÆt need to use any weapons, and shouldnÆt. They should be solely for the purpose of supporting other ships, so just nerf the crap out of their need for weapons, make them have penalties for arming weapons ( I can assure you there are plenty of people that would be more than happy to just support). Ok, I think IÆm going to make a list of things that should happen with these ships.
1)These ships need to fit large transfer arrays, large shield transporters, & large remote armor repairers and have bonuses to fit and use them. The reason? Why use these if a battleship can larger and better modules. Or remove the large ones, but who would want that??
2)These ships need to be just what they are, supporting ships! No one wants to use a ship that can heal if they have to hide in a safe spot and wait for someone that needs repairing. We can go to a station for that. They need either armor bonuses (and I mean huge bonuses better than heavy assault ships) or awesome signature radiusÆs so they can stay in battle and help.
3)They need to be more agile & fast or must have much larger ranges. Battles occur over long distances, hundreds of kilometers at times. Now IÆm not saying they should have unlimited ranges, but they need to have the same range as a battleship (especially if you expect us to train long range targeting 5!). If not, they need to warp in and out to gang members much faster.
4)MOST IMPORTANTLY û Can some Dev please make a comment about these ships!!! We are posting our ideas, do you guys think these ships are fine they way they are??? Or are there plans to fix them? Please give us some input on our ideas and where these ships are going. IÆm sure those that own the BPOÆs wouldnÆt mind dumping them while they have a little value if you arenÆt intending on doing anything.
In closing, I believe thinking outside the box with these ships is the key, its time to make some ships that arenÆt just for hauling or fighting. Please, we implore that you look at these and fix them. If not, then just take them out of the game, cause the way they are now, they are usless.
