EVE Online: Incursion 1.4 has been deployed. This patch includes the new DED complexes, additional character customization options, multiple Little Things from the Team BFF and many other highly anticipated features you can read about on the Incursion website. Please check the patch notes for full details of this release.
When reporting issues, please specify which client you are using (Mac or PC). This thread is for reporting issues only; for general feedback please use the Feedback thread.
Known Issue New Character Creator/Recustomizer Some players may experience a client crash when using the new character creator.
Workaround: Some users are occasionally experiencing a client crash when entering the character creator for re-customization. A fix for this will be deployed tomorrow. In the meantime, people that are experiencing this issue are advised to uncheck the "Physically simulated cloth and hair" option in the ESC menu ? Display & Graphics before entering the character re-customization.

Had the same problem as above with the character creator losing my changes after a cache reset. Re-customising with the in-station option seems to have saved it.
When you customize your character, a temporary portrait is created and stored in your local cache while the server processes the rendering for the image server. When the server-rendered portrait is ready it will replace the temporary one. If you clear your cache in the meantime, you will get the old portrait from the image server. As soon as it's done rendering you will get the new one, and also as you've seen if you again customize your character you will get a new temporary client-rendered image while the server processes the new one.

Ok. And Blehą
The problem is that it's now one of those unruly windows that can't really be stacked with anything else and which, for all other purposes than searching, is much larger than it needs to be. Would it be at all possible to move the fields around in the future (or even let them auto-flow/arrange themselves) to just require the same minimum width asą wellą pretty much everything else (e.g. People & Places, which is a good candidate for stacking the Asset window with)?
It used to be such a handy navigation tool to find where you're based; now it's just a screen real-estate hogą
I'll look into this

I got similar problem piccy the little pics looks HORRIBLE now. so low quality i can see pixles for crying out loud.
Just made a comparison pic with one image that looks normal (Naween) but poor shadowborn looks like a monster comparison
The tiny 32x32 certainly looks much better on the image server itself than in the picture you linked. Also the character info sized image looks fine too.
I would suggest try clearing the cache on your client and see if that helps... -- |

If you've selected "Don't ask me again" for this message in the past, then it stays suppressed when a new re-customization becomes available (technically you just still have a re-customization available, as you did when you suppressed the message). The offer is still valid, to be asked again you need to clear the suppression via the ESC menu (Recustomize Character, under Reset Settings, left hand column). Note that you need to log in before changing it.

Originally by: Stormchyld Hi, I haven't read through all of the posts so if this has been mentioned and a dev has answered with a solution/workaround I apologize but I'm having an issue where when I enter the character creator to re-customize it doesn't load correctly. it just shows the station background and not one of my characters. I've tried to go "back" and enter it again but to no avail. I have also logged off and tried again after I get back online and also cleared my cache. I haven't tried the "ESC and reset character creation" or whatever it is I've seen mentioned for other issues so I'll give that a try. This happened on sisi as well and I had to log off and bk on repeatedly and finally it loaded so I could finish it.
What type of graphics card do you have?

I haven't checked it since then tho. I have all the gfx settings for eve maxed .... just for the creation process. I lower them for regular gameplay. thanks edit: I checked the nvidia website and 266.58 is still the most current driver version
Your card should handle this just fine. This might be because of an issue with disabled station environments. Check your ESC menu, under Display & Graphics in the middle column, there's a checkbox for "Load Station Environment", make sure it's not disabled.

Originally by: Sonya Rayner I don't know if this was reported yet, but since 1.4 (and in 1.4.1) wordwrapping in chats (and maybe elsewhere) is broken: it wraps words at . and ' characters, which it should not. This causes decimal numbers and words with apostrophes in them to wrap silly, like "don't" gets wrapped with "don'" being on one line and "t" going to the other one.
Thank you, we'll look into this.

From other complaints I have read in the forums this appears to be a Mac specific bug. Textures go crazy and don't load properly. Not in an out of memory way, but in a nice contentious texture crash sort of way.

Hey everyone!
The people reporting this aren't crazy (at least when it comes to exploration sites). There is currently a bug which effectively means that TQ "runs out" of exploration sites the longer time passes. They then re-spawn at downtime, and the process repeats itself. This should not affect all types of sites, so if you're running anomalies in upgraded systems, it should not be an issue.
We have a fix for this, which is still pending testing. Hopefully we'll have it ready to go Thursday, if not, then at the earliest possible opportunity next week.
Thanks for all the feedback and bug reports

In regards to the patch notes "fix": "An issue with the text in chats not wrapping properly has been resolved."
- It has not been resolved. In fact, now, for me, it is persistently consistent in overlapping the first typed line of any chat window, and continues to do so throughout all chats. (Tested in 9 chats since 1.4.2 upgrade)
It looks like you're describing another issue, the wrap issue was that words would be split on apostrophes (so e.g. if you had "you're" at the end of a line it would be split in two when wrapped). You talk about overlapping text, can you please describe the issue in more detail. Thanks

I think the overlapping text is an old issue. I get one where when you reach the end of you first page of text and it adds a scrollbar the last line of text will be cutoff until more text shows up in the window where that last line of text overlaps the next line. I've also had an annoying text entry bug for a few months now (I think some time around the refactoring) and I never see people complaining about it. With any text in a text entry box in the game (i.e. chat windows, notepad, mail, etc) when you use the keyboard to move and select, if you hit "home" or "end" the selected text will tend to be the wrong half of one line (you will have the first half of a top line and then a break of nothing selected, then the entire next line.) The current state of text selection with the keyboard is essentially broken for me. There are other ugly UI bugs that I see every single day that makes the game just feel sloppy and unprofessional. I'm no longer sure when which bugs started popping up, since I've kinda come to expect sloppy programming from CCP.
Thank you, I'll follow up on these issues.

Originally by: Hakaru Ishiwara Oh god, finally a CCP representative addressing chat window issues. Ever since the UI got a back-end overhaul last Fall and through to this day, all chat windows have been bugged for me.
Issue #1 - Across every chat window and multiple clients, sometimes lines of chat will overlap by a single line. This issue is highly repeatable and is resolved by resizing the chat window.
Specifically, the bottom line of the next to last chat entry overlaps with the top of the most recent chat entry. My chat is configured to display time stamps and show only text.
Issue #2 - Possibly related to the above, when a chat window has enough text to initiate scrolling, the very last line of the most recent wrapped chat entry is not viewable without resizing the window. This issue is highly repeatable.
Thank you, I've made sure these issues have been properly filed and they will get addressed.

How will we know if something is wrong, or right, for that matter? Spawn rates are still not clearly defined from the initial dev blog by CCP Big Dumb Object.
Please set some clear guidelines on what we should expect.
You should at least not expect to see numbers decreasing over the course of a server run, so you have maybe 5 sites soon after downtime and none 12 hours later.

Originally by: Hakaru Ishiwara Bump. In a very small sampling of systems (-.45, -.49, -.56 and -.70), we are consistently not getting any Cosmic Signatures (Ladar, Magnetometric, Radar, Combat, Wormhole) other than gravimetric sites in systems with the industrial upgrade.
Understandably, this is a minuscule sampling of null-sec systems and they may not be representative of broader null-sec system behavior.
What should we typically expect to see in null-sec systems? And is it now a requirement to have certain IHub-based upgrades installed before certain Cosmic Signatures spawn in a system?
Is there another thread that officially addresses these questions? My search for such a beast hasn't been fruitful. Thx.
p.s. had to remove a nested quote per forum mechanics.
Nothing about cosmic signatures should have changed in the last few months and as far as I know there aren't any sites that require an upgrade to spawn. Because of the way the distribution works, itĘs almost impossible to say from such a small sample of systems whether there are distribution issues. Unless this is over an extended period of time (like a month) with no spawns for significant periods (how often during the day are you checking?), this is probably normal operation.

Erm, what about the addition of the new DED sites per CCP Big Dumb Object's blog posting and the Incursion 1.4 patch notes? Additionally CCP Big Dumb Object wrote that we should be seeing a cosmic signature per Entrapment Array upgrade level. That is a huge change from previous game behavior where that upgrade *never* impacted the number of cosmic signatures in-system despite its description.

I have been checking once a day at the most.
During the past 2+ years of probing down stuff (since Apocrypha), I have never seen null-sec systems re-populate cosmic signatures that have been cleared that same day. Once a system was cleared of cosmic signatures for the day, only worm holes had a chance of popping up in a cleared system. Has this mechanic changed? If so, when?
[As an aside, this is the reason why so many USTZ players complain about Cosmic Signature spawn rates as most valuable signatures are cleared by players who are able to get online right after the 11:00 downtime. By the time USTZ players get home from school or work (around 21:00 at the earliest), the signatures are cleared and there is nothing left but belt ratting and the odd DED 10/10 anomaly escalation.]
In the current game environment, should we be expecting to see same-day cosmic signature re-population behavior in null-sec systems? If so, something is definitely awry.
And just to be clear, I am not referring to cosmic anomalies. Specifically, I am inquiring into Unknown, DED, Combat, Magnetometric, Radar and Ladar sites that require several core scanner probes to locate. Thx.
Yeah, sorry, the cosmic signatures info is my bad WRT BDO's blog, I totally forgot we'd added them. Happily, in this case it makes no impact on site numbers, because those new DED sites were all being swapped in for existing sites in distributions, so while site types should have changed, total site numbers should be the same before and after. I'd also like to clear up that BDO didn't mean to imply that there will be fixed site numbers as there are with cosmic anomalies, but rather just that you have a chance at a different site with each upgrade rather than potentially just "rolling" (mechanic is not actually a per-system dice roll) five times for the same site.
WRT site respawn, there should be no daily limit or count on anything and no downtime-only restriction on respawns. Downtime does reset respawn delay counters, so for some sites it's likely that they'll get one spawn right after DT and another x hours later (where x is the respawn delay), but I don't believe that's ever more than ~12h. (When it's this high it does of course mean that if Euro players are clearing them, they'll generally skip US TZ and respawn later in the day; this is something I'm looking at rectifying.)

Appreciate the clarification.
So, it is true to assume that a system with, say, the Entrapment Array III upgrade will have the chance of spawning at least one of three different cosmic signatures (DED 6 / 10, DED 7 / 10, DED 8 / 10, for example) on a given day?
And is it also true that a given null-sec system might go an entire week or two without spawning a single cosmic signature due to the chance based nature of spawn rates? [This is a scenario that we are seeing play out on a very limited scope right now. Across other systems, we are seeing a drastic reduction in signature spawns since the Incursion 1.4 patch.]
Yes, that seems fairly accurate. It's always hard to judge whether these sorts of large, random systems have issues without large sample sizes. We did have something break noticeably a month or two back but that was patched up pretty quick.
