Hey guys. What is the best mission running faction BS (either navy or pirate faction, doesn't matter which) for doing lvl 4 missions solo?
I mission in gallente space and have all racial BS skills up to a minimum of lvl 3. Currently I run in a domi and have roughly 1m sp in drones. Tanking the missions are fine, its just killing them in a reasonable time frame that is an issue.
Anyone have a suggestion on what I should aim for? I am leaning towards a rattlesnake or a mach currently since I can get a good range of selectable damage types with either.
Thx in advance.

There is no "the" answer to this question. However most posters will be sure that their answer is the correct one. It depends so much on what style of play you like. Do you like working with drones (as in your Domi) or missiles (as in the Raven series)? Prefer more gank (Navy Raven) or more tank (Rattlesnake)? I'm not the type of person who tends to pay attention to things, but I do like watching stuffblow up so I go a middle ground (Scorp Navy) though at work I'll use the Rattler because if I have to leave the computer, nothing is going to get past that tank. Listen to what the other replies will say, but make sure you take into account your playing style.

Why a BS? Why not a Tengu?? Cheaper and with a T2 fit can do any lvL4.

Nightmare: great dps + range, limited to em/therm Mach: highest dps, good range, fast, and agile cnr: pure damage types, pretty good dps, awesome range rattlesnake: good for afking
those are probably in the better of the faction bs.
as for the tengu, fast + agile + low sig res + good damage + good range, takes a good damage loss when shooting anything that isn't kinetic. it a good choice for blitzing (speed + sig tanking gives it a huge tank), but not really all that much cheaper than most faction battleships unless prices have really changed when I wasn't looking. also low ehp, pretty easy to suicide gank.

I like the Navy Domi, with dual imp navy reps the tank is stable at 23% and you can AFK rock most missions. dont know about active mission running seeing that i have to walk away from the computer constantly with a small child.

Second it this. Anyone who claims other ships then this one is simply an fool and totaly has no idea about what this ship can do compared to any other ships in mission. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use one that will display - Fallout |

Personally, i fly both the Nightmare and Machariel. Since i live in Amarr, the Nightmare is THE best ship for blood and Sansha. I can complete Blockade in like 8 minutes. Nightmare more or less insta-pops blood and Sansha BS's. Great ship for em/therm related blitzing. To contrast that i also use the Mach for missions like Angels Extravaganza - All rooms including bonus takes about 15 mins. Both these ships in combination are ways to literally Print your own money. IMO Mach and Nightmare excell all ships for mission blitzing.

While i clearly see your point it is not exactly what op did ask. He did ask about 1 ship and not 2 for difrent type of missions.
The onother things is and that is my personal opnion is why you have to have 2 ships while one can do the job for all of the missions? Ofc NM will be sligtly better vs sansha/raiders but the trade off is you have to spend 2 times so much isk for both ships, atleast ofc isk isnt an isue and you can afford that then this is defenetly an option, though for me it will be more like unneed luxery.
Just my 2cent ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use one that will display - Fallout |

You mention this in several threads but fail to mention that if you do fit a tengu with t2 instead of complex that it will take as long to complete missions as a drake.
A 600 million isk ship with drake stats is ****ing ******ed. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

I never said the Tengu put out as much DPS as a Nightmare or Mach. Just that T2 fitting a Tengu gets you far better performance than a Drake in every measure and Cipher is more or less a mouth-breathing r3tard.
(But we all knew that anyway)

The mach is prolly the best choice. I personally prefer the Rattlesnake because of how I like to play. I just like everything the Rattlesnake has to offer. This and I don't like using turrets (Looking at the Nightmare and mach). CNR's are good and can tank about anything while dealing good dps but not the fastest killing thing out there. Pick what you want to fly and have fun.
No Tengus on my list sad to say. I have seen many killed by 2 suicide minmatar bs's and don't want to be in that boat.

change the rigs around to

gives a nice dps bump, and also add in implants, up to 737 dps, and because I'm in an eft ***** mood, lets take out reload time 790 dps!
and no it isn't amazing dps but it is the other benefits that I listed earlier that make it nice.
