my thread was not a rant. who are you to tell me weather my question is sincere or not. IT IS. i would really, truthfully like to know what items have not been messed around with since retail started. i dont believe there are any. i want to know because items that have been messed with simply suck to be honest.
pretty soon we will be arming our ships with feather dusters and all staying docked in the station.
Dont tell me my post is a rant when it isnt. i would like someone to post a list of whats been "tinkered" with since retail thankyou.
Howeveer if you would like me to post rants wrangler, i could go on all day about your moderating abilities.

wasnt that what beta was for CCP? im sure it was...
this isnt a troll post, flame or whatever other reason someone can find to lock the thread, its a sincere question. id like to know what hasnt been messed with since retail started. maybe those items may be worth using.
heres one of the reasons why the range stuff simply wasnt needed for ammo:
use the cheap stuff get naff results.
use the expensive stuff get good results.
its the same with ships, missiles, rockets, everything i can think of apart from guns -- and soon to be ammo too
(most guns just suck for no logical reason. Dual 150mm rail for example, 720mm howitzer, Dual 250mm rail)
the price is the only thing needed to offset! maybe just make the good ammo more expensive to make, making it MUCH more expensive.. say 200 isk a unit (players will soon fight that down to average of 80isk or so im sure)
what next? expensive missiles fly slower? or cant fly as far just like ammo cant?
why not fix silly annoying bugs instead of this stuff. EG: smart bomb blueprint section wont open, hasnt done since retail began. i think some other section on the market had a similar problem in beta.
oh, i forgot, the enormous bouts of lag we have been getting over the last few weeks, and its getting worse. 2 minutes for items to apear in my cargo after i move them isnt funny.
your thoughts?

it probably wont be able to shoot anything its not actualy sat on.
as for calling wrangler an ass, its the most polite way i could sum my feelings up about his moderating abilities. i cannot believe this guy has been let loose on a "proffesional" forum. a front for a company. i cannot believe it as he has obviously never done it before, and his knowledge of the games mechanics are also lacking, hes made several posts on this board telling people how things are when he is simply wrong.
how can someone who hasnt a clue about the game himself be in a Vol job !
Mind you quite a few of the polaris team dont seem to know enough about the game either. Hence people so often file petitions to be told "ill just pass this onto a gM" or get silly answers back like "you ship must have been jump scrambled"
some of them are hilarious gaffs, but when you stop laughing about them you have to think how unerving it is that people like that are in the position they are.

im an insomniac, im usualy awake for 48 hours at a time. i will keep asking till i get an answer, no matter which "moderator" seems to think im not asking a valid question. either thaht or its information they dont want public because it looks bad on them.. either way i still want an answer.
i could always go play another game tho, and all because some VOLUNTEER as aspirations.

it seems people cant come up with anything. guess that means everything has been "tinkered" with at some point? usually nerfing, only buffs i can think of was the extra mid slot for some ships.

Well, name one MMORPG game that hasn't changed drastically since the release. It just happens, games get developed and released, things are changed and fixed affecting the playstyle of certain people. The thing is, ADAPT!
In ideal world everything would come out finalized, working as intended and bug free. But sadly, to break the news, this is not an ideal world. People make mistakes.
In every MMO game where I've played since 1999 I have had to adapt my playstyle to the changes. I have had to notice that certian things I was used to are not working as intended anymore. And YES I have complained, ranted, shouted and ****ed off to the developers. But in the end, it just happens. Things get "nerfed!" because of the sake of balance and gameplay.

True that nova, i suppose. it just seems that the nerfing has been sweeping, often DRASTIC changes to game dynamics. not so much tinkering as sledgehammering.
and everything. Beta 5 was for balancing. supposedly. i dont think any balancing was done during that phase however, the game was still too buggy as everyone kept saying.
we really are playing a beta, and paying for it.
i dont mind tinkering, nerfing where needed, but the changes being made to the game are sweeping and drastic.
I can adapt fine, however there comes a limit. a point where the game you are playing is not the game you wanted to play in the first place.
i know an MMOG SHOULD change to some extent.. obviously if it didnt we would get bored.
But some of the changes being made to the game are "DOH!" - hit yourself in the forehead with palm of hand type changes.

I know how you feel Tristan. I started my MMO genre with Asheron's Call and played it quite a bit (since 1999 still active acccount). There were *many* times when I was ready to throw the AC CD out of my window and stop playing. Some things just changed too much *but*, in the end I find myself still there :)
It will happen to me with Eve too, I am sure. But it is still rather new to me so I have lots of time to get nerfed :)

I agree, alot of equipment has been drastically nerfed. But CCP has good reason to wave the nerf stick with *** abandon. Certain items were making people insanely powerful. Things like stacking maultiple damage mods were just way to overbalancing, micro warp drives were ridiculously overpowering, weapons were doing way too much damage, ammo was taking up way too much cargo space, cruisers didn't have nearly enough mid slots....wait a minute, some of those things are great for players!
Why do we constantly see post where people complain about item nerfs, when almost as many improvements have been implemented.

yes sal, those items needed fixing, i more than agree, and the modulated beams an stamped heatsink lark all needed fixing.
but just because your door panel on your car is scratched doesent mean you replace the whole car does it?
its what CCP do, "ooh.. X item is unblanaced, lets nerf the whole item class"

alot of things should have been nerfed prior to the game going live.
looks like CCP underestimated alot of things, considering that less than three months from live theres an awful lot of ppl suffering endgame blues allrdy.

well I for one am dreading the next patch....
I never got in on the "cool stamped heatsink/Heavy Modulated Beam" combo. I've just barely found a few HMBs for my own use. I was using a combination of off market hybrids till they nurfed them beyond belief. I just left the Venal region and get this: the "Terrorists" rates there were so pathetic, we'd actually kill off the Frigates first because the Ospreys were equiped with Dual 150mm Rails and would get "wrecking hits" for all of 25 points...
Now I'm not going to be able to do any damage with my HMBs after the next patch.... This really bothers me.

Actually you can get paid to be a Beta tester. Ever see the credits on games before? Look for the QA section and then Testers. Those are people who get paid to play test the game.
Playing games for a living is not all fun and games tho, trust me. You get stuck with some real lemons.

be happy you now pay for such a great amount of work so u can complain about it.
i agree ccp have made way to many mistakes to redeeem them selfs so far, but i live in hope that maybe in a few years they will suprise us all.

why are these ships allowed to fit battleship sized shield extenders?
after the changes made to the eos i fully understand that battle cruiser sized hulls are supposed to use medium modules - medium guns,medium lanchers,medium drones and here are these 2 ships cheekily wearing those great big extenders

The cheeseburger I'm eating needs to be nerfed. The beef is just way to tasty, the cheese is melted way to well. The bacon is just right so it must be overpowed. Also these fries need to be nerfed, they just taste to damned good.
