Wow, we're really not prepared, are we?
I've got a lighter and a can of deodorant, or I suppose I could smash a zombie skull with my hard drive.

Burning cigarette in my left hand ? Could work. Against one gasoline-soaked zombie. And just maybe. Ashtray partially filled with cigarette butts. Fat load of good will that do. Glass of water ? Maybe if I battle the wicked witch of the west (or was it east) ? A chair with a running room ventilator (a.k.a. "Fan") on it ? Meh, doubtful. Some flammable materials (rubbing alcohol, cologne, can of body spray, candles, incense sticks) ? Probably, again, against one or two zombies, tops, but still doubtful. Bookcase full of books ? Meh, not with my throwing arm. A flimsy wooden door ? Yet again doubtful.
I guess, come zombie apocalypse, I'll soon be eating YOUR brains _

It's a Russell Hobbs steam iron. One of those with an extra water tank for massive steam requirements. The wife loves it, but I simply refuse to iron anything.

Setting a zombie on fire doesn't work, unless you have enough distance on them. They tend to wander about for awhile after being set on fire before becoming incapacitated. ----------

The only thing worse than a zombie chasing you is a zombie chasing you while on fire

Well, seems the weapon I am stuck using is a dead nine volt battery.
It had gotten mixed up in the drawer of the good batteries, and I kept pulling it out to discover it was dead and having to quickly get another.....and then coming home and forgetting where I put the dead one. This morning when it happened I made sure to put it far far away from the others(but not in the trash because I'm a bit OCD about batteries and I wanted to make sure the dud was a dud).
So yeah.......anybody have any ideas about how the **** I can survive with a dead, non-rechargable 9 volt battery?

To the immediate left is a cheap Labtec speaker, shortly after that is a notepad and three pens of varying colour and shortly after that is a shelf with a Mauri Berreta.
I think the speaker will do more damage, though I wish the picture said "To the left and behind you" because the Katana I have on display is quite sturdy.

Ok, first you throw the crt monitor... then attach the small knife to the xbox wired controller using the alarm clock cord and you'll have a very cheap morning star thingy

I have: - a top shelf cabinet of my "computer desk" which isn't very practical. - a TI-89 scientific calculator and a cheaper "use only at work" calculator - a pencil sharpened from both ends and chewed from the middle ... - my cell phone - a halogen lamp - a key to open electric cabinets (I'm an electrician) - a big box of CD's - some duck tape - alarm clock - big loudspeaker at the top of my cabinet
I think I'm screwed, unless zombies are like vampires from Buffy the vampire slayer.

Eh ... I've got at least one gun (.22 LR) ... a bolo (like a machete) and two hunting knives within easy reach ... Curiously ... except for the gun ... those and my two buck knives were all presents from friends or relatives ... I wonder why people keep giving me knives ... ? I've also got a bunch of BB Guns and ... my Dad's Sword.
I guess the best zombie killer of the bunch would be that bolo ... Zombies can't grab you if you hack off their hands and ... can't chase you if you hack off their legs. Shoot out their eyes with the .22 and then lop off their heads with the bolo?
The biggest problem there is that they've mostly been sitting around in the top of my closet for 10 or 20 years ... so the dust may be a little thick ... but they're there ... Zombies - beware.
Hunh ... what else have I got ... big pair of scissors laying on the table to my right ... rusty Craftsman tool box full of tools I used to fix my cars that doubles as a foot rest ... ratchet and socket wrench laying on the table to my left ... big fire extinguisher ... drawer full of pliers, dikes, screw drivers and a tin snip ... not to mention the finger & toe nail clippers, pocket knife, gel tip pen, big bag clipper and a hand full of AA Batteries ... all within immediate reach ... and then of course there's this big, gray, metal Navy Chair I'm sitting in ... I've got a laser pointer to blind them with ... but the batteries are dead ... Oh well ... In any case ...
*shrug*
Zombies better stay away from me. I'm prepared.

Lets see...to my immediate left:
A wacom tablet TV remote PS3 controller Claymore DVD box set
I guess i could use the tablets corners to do a bit of damage. Maybe throw the controller like some kind of cool boomerang. The DVDs and remote would just impact off the surface of any advancing hordes. Though a bit further to my left there's a nice metal stool, that would be my first choice in a pinch.

Let's see:
- I have a 24" Samsung LCD monitor. - My portable work phone. - 2 Craftsman rolling tool chests full of mechanical and electrical tools; I'm a facility manager and electrician by trade. - about 60 cents in change. - A cart full of schematics, equipment manuals, and such that really needs filing. - A 9V and an 18V cordless drill with 4 dead batteries between them; I really need to charge them sometime this week. - A box full of foam earplugs.
I guess I could use the tool chests as a make shaft barricade, throw all the smaller tools and my phone at the zombies, then use what larger sized tools I have to hack and slash a few more. But overall, I'm pretty much screwed, unless they just need some electrical work done.
Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |
