I take all of my missions while sitting in a frigate. It has made no difference to date. I get pirate extravaganza and multi-drop courier jobs offered to my frigate...
Prior to Exodus I did the same thing and it did make a difference what ship I used.
On the drones... I use them a lot and once the frigates are gone they do work well at keeping the larger ships busy.

Originally by: Falbala This week I have lost a Dominix and a Brutix to L3 missions... Therefore I made some experiments and figured out it was because the agent looks at what ship you have and tailors the mission accordingly. So I gave a try at L4 missions with a Vexor and this is the result:
screenshot
The explanation is that the ships try to lock the drones and they can't... I lost a Vexor to this mission already though since the 2nd wave spawned on the top of the ship... Missions stuff is all about cheating it seems...
Based on your info I should be able to do lvl 4 missions in the ibis. No you say? Why didnt you just said that agent looks at your ship? No This is not true@@@@!! It doesnt matter what ship you have ! It is skill and your set up. Based on you telling us that you havent played for 10 years and looking at your screenshot and seeing that your set up is...very very noobish one can tell right there that there is no problem with lvl 4 missions it's just that no one does them in the cruiser or frig. it's ether a group of ppl or a battleship... at least a battlecruiser

I took a shuttle, went in a belt and got it crashed by npcs. Then I went to the base and boarded a brand new velator. Then I asked the agent for a L4 mission and I got 5 packs of npcs like this: Kill Objective
Destroy these targets: Target LocationXXXXX Target #1one Core Executor Target #2six Serpentis Chief Protectors Target #3two Guardian Sentrys Target #4three Guardian Troopers Kill Objective Destroy these targets: Target LocationXXXXX Target #1three Serpentis Chief Sentinels Target #2three Guardian Veterans Target #3four Serpentis Drug Barons
Oddly it will be much harder for me since there are frigates in the pack but it seems to me that the ship you have matters yes. Only one BS in this mission...
Edit: my mistake more than one BS but still, it seems that ship matters.
Earlier in the week I accepted the Sabotage the supply line mission (Lvl 4). There is a thread on this mission which you can see here.
Link
This mission was accepted while in my Apoc so according to your logic, I should have come up against at least 6 BS in this mission and guess what...... not a single BS, just cruisers and frigs.
Was kinda looking forward to this mission, soooo dissapointed
Sherkaner, please, if you can find that thread, It would be good to see it so we can finally put this one to bed. |

Otherwise several people who runs lots of missions can spend a few days accepting missions in a frigate, and a few days running missions in a BS (random days of course) and we can collect all the data and run some statistical signifigance tests on it. Or we could just hope a dev sees this post and answers... whatever works.
