[1] Down time is something that must occur to maintain this type of a game. I think we all have become spoiled with the past games, and that multiple servers have been available to log into incase our main playing server went down. Factor in that past games have also had servers in different regions, allowing for more regionally suitable downtimes. Eve however is different. There is main server "Tranquility", which in its self is a network of about 55 servers. The servers are based out of London, despite CCP being located in Iceland. When this server cluster goes down, everyone goes down. 1100 GMT is actually the best time to bring the servers down, since the majority of the player base (North America and Europe) is not online at the moment (or even awake in my case). The problem that most people face is that they live in a time zone that just happens to have the downtime right in the middle of their main playing time. This is unfortunate however it is unavoidable. With a game that is played globally, someone will always get screwed on the time zone issue of the down time. With better equipment downtime could be reduced to near nothing (99.99999% availability) however that would come out of the money that CCP does not have. The only resolution is to suck it up and bear it. Or quitą your choice. Personally I donĘt care if you quit, that just leaves more Arknor for me =) You currently have 157 skills and 26,183,909 Brain cells |
