I tried regularly uninstalling the program, but it keeps generating an elevation error. I tried the following commands in terminal:
rm -rf /home/lucas/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/CCP rm -rf /home/lucas/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/CCP sudo rm -rf /home/lucas/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/CCP sudo rm -rf /home/lucas/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/CCP
Nothing worked. The command finishes but when I check the relevant folders, they still exist. What am I doing wrong?

Edited by: Avrien on 14/04/2011 02:34:11 I had that and changed it to xp mode or something and it stopped getting the error.
I'm now dealing with all of the re installers failing in one way or another. It's been 3 days or something and I can't play.
the online installer needs repaired but never works. And now the off line installer says archive fails to unpackage... I"m losing game time and I think my skills finished...

Here is how I installed eve:
Freshly installed Ubuntu 10.10 x 64 Installed updates and graphics drivers. I downloaded wine 1.2 via the website using the ubuntu link. I used winetricks to manually install the game's requirements via the gui provided when you click on winetricks via the wine expanded dropdown menu in applications. The game attempted to download an older version of the game so I cancelled the download. I downloaded the updated version from eve website. I ran the eve.exe setup in wine I win
Find the Jukebox folder for eve and rename it anything but Jukebox. Jukebox crashes the client Disable shadows Disable HDR
Play
I forgot to mention that you need to download the arial.tff fonts and move them into the fonts folder for windows in wine so you can get past the eula screen

If the directories are in use by a running process, you can't delete them. Might need to reboot and then try rm -rf on the directories.
