Some people solo Thanatos class capital ships in stabbers. I lose bombers to gate guns.
A two week old character showed me a solo killmail of his merlin destroying a deimos. My biggest kill so far is a mission domi I stole from in his mission.
Why am I terrible? How do I fix it?

EVE is a game that rewards persistence and patients. When you are new to the game you will fail, and fail, and fail. Only a handful of people become amazing at the game within their first few months. If you keep playing and experimenting you will figure out a way to be successful.
Also read up on all the guides and instructional videos (if any). Just remember that following guides is never enough. EVE has so many hidden and unpredictable variables, some you would never think of. The only way to get good at something is to keep trying it.

No, patients of any sorts should stay locked up in their cells and take their medicine at a regular hour. They shouldn't be present in any online game. Unfortunately I see more of them seeping through security and into our games. If I was rewarded a patient for my adventures in EVE I would quit immediately.

Using the built-in search on this forum is ALMOST the same as option #2, since it's basically just a custom Google search.
I still prefer Google over it, and I prefer eve-search over Google.
P.S. We STILL don't know just how relevant the search engine of the new forum was (is / will be).
Sure, it looked better at first sight, but we have no idea how relevant the results would end up being, not without a lot of data to search through anyway.
For all we know, eve-search might still remain the better option.

Stick at it, my first character was a pirate in 2004, I lost 8 blackbirds in a single week. I think at least 5 of those was warping to gates or stations with a GCC. I know I definately lost one when I got stuck on a roid. The other two times had to be lol worthy. I only remember this because that week bankrupted me >.<
Oh it's now 2011 and I'm still terrible. You don't stand a bloody chance son.

Just on the off chance you aren't trolling, you are terrible because you do not know your ships and what they do.
Let's break it down:
Solo Stabber vs Thanatos....ok yae obviouse troll, not possible. Ant cannot kill elephant.
2 Week Old Merlin vs Deimos.....ehhhhh not probabel. Only possible if deimos = fail fit...wich happens alot so you never know. Merlin may have gotten RR'd...hell I took out a fail fit scorpion in my omen after 2 months...had great RR to help me, so you never know
Misssion domi vs Fail Pilot. Did you steel it or kill it?

It is your forum to game time ratio, I suggest you immediately stop posting on the forums and only spend time logged into the game. By my estimates you will need to do this for at least a year to fix it, so better get going.

Don't play to be good, play to learn to be good through experience. Yes, EVE is tough, I've lost a few ships, sometimes stupidly, but as a new player (5 weeks) I'm learning all the time. And I'm having a blast doing it.
