there are references to infested freigters or other large vessels known as 'hulk hives' or something simillar, that are basically small mobile drone hives, it is possible that is meant to be one of those. either that or your 'camera' was just in an odd place and was catching 2 items in a way to make them look oddly beetle-esque.

It could a Cockroach, one of the Bug Hunter ships, but viewed from above.
Although why it would be floating around in a random deadspace site is anyone's guess.

I've been looking for this in-game! It seems like it is about 8 meters long, does this seem about the right size? It's hard for me to tell from the in-game screenshot.

Indeed it does look like one of the bug hunter ships, formally known as the Equipment Certification and Anomaly Investigations Division or ECAID, they mentioned in one of the fanfest videos but it's too early in the morning for me to remember which one.
