Edited by: Sovennek on 15/04/2011 22:27:08 Edited by: Sovennek on 15/04/2011 22:25:55 If and when is it worth the time and ammo to blow up destructible structures in a mission for the off chance of picking up additional loot. I've spent a little time blowing up a handful of structures, on level 1 missions, and never got a thing. I'm now doing level 2 missions and was wondering if it was now worth the time and expense, or if it was ever worth the expense for any mission of any level.
Thanks in advance for your replies!

Pretty much always worthless with a few notable exceptions (usually listed in eve survival).

Understood. That's kind of what I was figuring.
As a side note: am I the only one in EVE who avoids using EVE Survival in order to maintain an element of surprise?

The most worthless being the War Installations which take around 10 minutes to pop in a BS and drop a tiny bit of super-crap.
But like posted above check eve-survial for the exceptions. Personally I like the ones that drop livestock types, but that's just cause I've got a little collection of people.
It's usually just a little bit of ammo, junk t1 mods, metal scraps and worthless trade goods. Using lasers with t1 crystals only costs you time at least.

Since CCP loves to do stealth changes to the game, I always blow up all structures when in a new mission area or combat site. After getting the same one a few times, you'll know which structures to attack and what to expect for the loot.
Mainly the drops will be Munitions and Trade goods which are used for stocking/building an Outpost. They can also randomly drop Implants, T2 production tools, BPC's, etc. Not to mention metal scraps as well.

Well, it's a trade off. Get spoon fed solutions and have eve get even more boring even more quickly or figure it out yourself and have more fun but at the risk of losing a couple of ships and earning isk more slowly.

hehe level 4 and 5 missions are fairly rough to be learning what to expect. I personally did not research every mission before I did it, but I came very prepared. I did have one close call though, I went through a acceleration gate, there were two frigates that tackled me, and about 15 to 20 BS that were way off and closing on me, all I had to do complete the objective was look at the on coming force and run. The general idea was that I would be killing the frigates and fleeing the mass number of BSs in coming.
Luckily when I jumped through I had brought a totally sick BS... fleet issue with several plex loot items on it, and I was able to take it all on at once. I would not recommend that tactic personally, but it did save me that one time. I now carry 5 light drones too so I can kill tackles faster heh.
I would either over prepare or I would glance over the missions you are about to come and look for key words that sound like a trap. things like go here and look to see if it is true that the whole fleet of minmatar is coming... lol

Did this on my first lvl 4 Damsel in Distress, where you get to like 40% structure and the 4 BS's and 2 spiderdrones pop out... pop goes the passive drake. Balance in all Things, TigerC1aw |
