As far as I know they dont produce the cards anymore. And I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in my state that has any cards so about the trading I honestly have no clue.

Edited by: J Kunjeh on 16/04/2011 17:18:00 I have a rather large collection of them myself, not sure how close I am yet to a complete set (I have it tracked...somewhere). You can still get these cards through some outlets; I personally would try Amazon, as there are still card sellers on there who carry them. Unfortunately, the game isn't supported by CCP or WhiteWolf anymore as far as I know, but I wish they would. But no, mine are collectibles, so I don't trade...sorry.

I literally just threw the two or so packs I had in the trash this week. I never met anyone else who played, even when I went to the local game conventions.

Not individual card trading, but they do have booster packs and even full boxes up there (sold by 3rd parties, not Amazon).

Edited by: MotherMoon on 16/04/2011 20:12:58 We have a bunch of people in redmond/seattle that still play.
also you can buy boxes of booster packs for 24$ on amazon now.
basically 1$ a pack. free shipping.
edit:
te problem is the clutter. the eve ccg is actully really interesting. However once you've got 3 locations and 5 ships on one region, with 2 miners on another, and the other guy has 4 regions with ships on them, and your card game is forced to spawn the whole table.
honestly it would work better as a video game. whith region cards being huge areas that once you play before an area you can send ships. ships would play on the field as tokens that fit easily inside regions, mouse over units and locations to see what they do.
So everything would still be cards in your hand, but once you play it, they would be shown as pieces on a board.

Interesting idea. Hey CCG, what do you say about an iPad/iPhone app of the CCG?

They've already washed their hands off the ccg, highly unlikely they would make an app.... especially with their track record of issues etc.

I definitely have a couple of those, although as I do still play with a housemate I'd have to be 'convinced' to trade them :P Are you US or UK?
I can't check til I go back to uni at the end of this month, but I've got a megathron, possibly geminate, and I have a network access that I'm afraid I probably wouldn't be willing to trade.
I do have foil versions of the megathron and the network access though, those I might be willing to part with as I'm less interested in collector's pieces and more playing the game.
Contact me in game : )

I dunno if it is helpful but in my country I have seen these card boosters all over the place for 1-4$ each. If they are still there when I get back I could pick some up for you.

Thanks guys, i've seen them advertised of course in america etc....
I'm UK based and i only need 9 cards (i only collect, not play)... so a little bit wary of buying boosters etc just to get the 9 cards.
I'll send some ingame eve mails, obviously this isnt my main and i very rarely log her in. My main is B0LL0CKS (spelt with zero's instead of 'o').
Thank you in advance for all your help (dont suppose anyone does battletech as well) :P

They pretty much just dropped it, and in the most offensive way possible. They didn't bother to make any announcement to the community, or anything formal. They just fired the community manager (or he left - again, nothing formal, we just heard through rumors), and stopped doing anything with it. When WW reorganized their forums/site there wasn't anything for it, and the domain expired. They pulled the feeding tube and left it to die.
I actually had a mostly-functional network game table for playing it. But it really just wasn't worth the effort to polish and finish. The game was OK and had some original ideas, but suffered from severe balance issues and mismanagement. In the end there weren't any more than a few dozen active players on the main WW forums. Like so many things CCP starts, they seem to have just gotten bored with putting the effort in to keep it developing and growing.

Yeah, unfortunately your post is spot-on. I was very disappointed to learn that the CCG was tossed in the bin. I think with more support and a little tweaking, it'd have been a hit. It was very different than other CCG's, the cards were gorgeous, and it had a lot of promise. Unfortunately it's not really possible to play too much unless you already have a huge collection of cards. I bought a ton when I first learned about it, but I don't know that the variety is great enough to make wonderful decks for 2-3 players (and even if it is, there are no more cards to add, so the gameplay would get old soon enough).

The only memory I have of the CCG is not being able to understand how to play it, but watching the oldschool EveTV crew play it in Iceland.
Everyone would always gang up on KIAeddz in the first couple of turns and totally whitewash him to kill him, then spend like 3 hours playing

Used to play this a lot. Even went to Indy a few years back to compete in the "championship" (awesome after party btw... White Wolf knows how to party).
Sad to see it die, it was (like eve) very steep learning curve as far as CCGs go. I found that to be part of the charm, but it had trouble attracting new players. ========================= Karash Amerius - Operative - Sutoka Fighting Broke - A Eve Online Blog ========================= |
