Yes and it is extremely dangerous to someone with photosensitive epilepsy.
All my stuff on my PC is custom tuned to ensure **** like this does not happen, how they managed to **** up something so irrelevant to the patch.

I suppose a temp fix for now is to close your eyes until you hear the log in music.

I too have this flickering issue, if you are being serious about the seizure then it is sad that this happened, however someone with a tendency to have seizures while experiencing flickering shouldn't really be so mad; and as for having a computer specific to this seizure tendency, i highly doubt you have such a computer as you cant guarantee that the software you download isn't going to flicker.
That being said, I think you were joking, so as many others seem to be having this issue, calm down and lower your voice :D
Inb4; i pay for this game, so it must be perfect.

I get the same flicker. Booting up eve is slow but when it does boot up there's a flicker from that to the log in screen. Plus in game problems with solid white popcorn looking bubbles surrounding the things like the jump gate and missions items like silo's. It mostly happens when I come out of warp and they white bubbles flicker.
It might be the ATI card had put in a petition with a screen shot last week but its since vanished.

lol, it is not common for me to react to flickering/flashes, it was purely due to the fact that it was NOT expected, like watching a movie I am aware of the bright flashes and explosions etc etc and yes, my PC is specifically setup to avoid this, disabled flash player, lower screen brightness, all my games also have post effects and particals off as well.
tl;dr, if I am prepared mentally to handle it, I am ok :)

I've been tracking this issue because I too had a 'flickering' issue using a ATI Radeon HD 5770 1gb PCI-e.
- Unresolved--Lowering all ingame graphic settings to bare minimum (thinking lag was culprit).
- Unresolved--Maintained settings of 1 with update to graphic driver
- Unresolved--Maintained settings of 1 & 2 while decreasing resolution
- Resolved--Enabled all 'Use application settings' in Catalyst and deselected 'Use OpenGL' (was using manually forced settings to increase Anti-alias to 16X)
- Slowly moved all ingame graphic settings back to high with flickering now gone.
So basically, by manually forcing my GPU to 'Highest Quality' settings while ignoring all application settings this flickering occured. Once I allowed Eve to control the graphics, flickering dissappeared.
Hope this helps somewhat.

Same issue here turning off anti aliasing fixed it.
Win7 x64 nVidia 8800gts
I would suggest running eve in safe-mode Vag if your not already doing so.

I am having the same flickering problem on two different machines, and anti-aliasing *is* off. CCP, please look into this. This happens since the latest bigger patch (where new itmes to char-gen were added), iirc.

Could you try and run the game in windowed or Fixed Windowed mode and see if you get the same flickering.

Edited by: Aston Martin DB5 on 30/05/2011 11:02:35 Yea, running the game in windowed mode takes care of the flickering as you load the application...... however, any word on a fix for this? Its been going on since the start of incursion.

I doubt they care, too bust setting up the vanity shop.
They dont reli care about their customers, havent for the past 6-8 month. All the negative feedback they get about an idea, they still put the crap in the game.
I tried turning off AA, never helped, I just turn off the monitor during start up.

Dude there was a reply here be cool
Yeah I noticed the flicker too, and my display of choice blasts the entire room when it goes off so kinda sucks.
Btw the gay now-target-based 'doomsday' also is migrane inducing but i point the camera somewhere else. On that note I now request that the former aoe doomsday weapon from here on in is referred to as the 'failsauce mod' as it unleashes nothing of doom cept the one target AND no longer can be used on a structure. Hardly worthy of the 'doom' moniker.

Ive had this flickering for months when running full screen, ever since they changed everything to support the new avatar portraits, not just since the last patch.
