Hello.
I think a ship's speed and agility must modify depending on how much cargo it carries. It is not only logical (physics tells us that the force used for propulsion is dependend on the weight of the object propeled) but it can add more depth to the game.
I'm not thinking of lowering actual ships speed and agility (some are already very slow) with full cargo caried but instead raise those current attributes when the cargos are empty.
What do you think ?

This idea makes sense but I think it wont work with the current cargo system Eve has. This is simply because cargo is based on volume, not mass. There is little distinction between a cargo hold full of wheat or empty containers and a cargo hold full of tritanium, but the mass of these different cargos is nowhere near the same. Maybe Eve already has a system that measures how much mass is in your cargo hold, but a change to speeds based on this wouldnt make sense based entirely on volume, because a full hold of feathers is still a full hold, but makes virtually no change to the ship mass. ----------------------------------

In space weight doesnt matter.. and as for sounds there are no sounds in space..

Sheesh. Mass does matter. Not in the max speed, but in the time it takes to accelerate something. Speed limits in space are not scientifically correct anyways.
And taking mass into consideration would only lower the agility, not the max speed.
Anyways, I like the idea. Many items already got a mass, why not? Add the mass of the items in the cargohold to the mass of the ship. (If that isn't already done.)
Fact is, cargo is rather light compared to the mass of the ships right now, so the difference is minor.

1) Garia666 if you read the scientific story about pods you will find that the sound is articficially created by the ship to give it more realism.
2) You could take the point of speed further and say that once the engines reach the desired speed they turn off as in speed there is no resistance/friction to slow it down and once something has reach any speed it will continue to move at that speed until an opposite force is applied against it.
