Damion Rayne Gallente Dark-Rising	Posted - 2011.04.19 23:39:00 - [1] So people will stop complaining.. WIP Pic from CCP Keynote Gee..look what's still there? Neocom on the left hand side? Check. Station Services buttons so you can't actually whine about CQ changing gameplay? Check. Local and Corp chat tab still there? Check. The only changes are really easy to understand, When you dock..you see your character and CQ and can "choose" to use the CQ 3D UI, aka going inside and using the hologram of your active ship to fit it. OR Still use the exact same UI functions you are used to using already. The only real change is that you're seeing you character instead of you ship, which btw...just walk down to the balcony and look at it if it's that important to you.

The main complaint that is going around is it sounds like CQ is NOT OPTIONAL. Which means CCP is now forcing this Sims in Space crap on everyone. Granted this is something that is unconfirmed. Also CCP has screwed up almost every expansion they've every released(minus Apocrypha) so it shouldn't come to any surprise when CQ is bugged like hell.

I have argued from the very outset of this idea that if I can't walk up behind an enemy, shove an icepick into the base of his skull, watch him fall to the floor twitching in death, and then urinate on his corpse, the whole "walking-in-stations" is woefully incomplete and useless. There should also be a skill allowing for the breaking-and-entering into enemy quarters and hangars for the purposes of espionage, sabotage and outright theft. This is, after all, EvE, a cold, hard, heartless place where skewring over everyone in sight is not only proper gameplay, it is actively encouraged by the developers and advertised as such.

I see no value at all in this and consider any development spent on it a complete waste of time. I don't want it and wish that the features currently in the game that are sub-optimal (sovereignty, many ships, faction warfare, wormhole space, planetary interaction, etc..basically everything added in the past expansions) would get all development attention. Realize that the current hangar + ship takes CONSIDERABLY less time to load from your hard drive than the CQ, character, clothes, special textures (tattoos, scars, etc.) Meaning where right now you go from space to being able to interact with station UI in 5 seconds or less, with the CQ in place you will be able to interact with station UI in 15-30 seconds, depending on how much RAM/VRAM your PC has, and how fast your disk is. People who whine about CQ not being optional have a very valid point. If they don't care about CQ, and Incarna in general, and are never planning to use it, why in god's name do they have to sit for 15-30 seconds waiting for CQ to load every bloody time they dock?!
