The point where you knew you did something wrong was when you did it on Facebook.
BTW it isn't clear is this available to those of us who don't actually live in America?

From the "Terms and Conditions" on EVGA's website:
Quote: Offer void where prohibited.
So check with your local laws. I know some places in Canada you can't win more then a certain amount if some conditions aren't met.

Honestly, I have no idea what you're talking about.
The issue is that CCP already ran this contest through FB, but now they're forgetting that one even happened and starting a new one? That's inane.
Unless they already gave the first computer out and I missed the memo?

Yes, it's that easy to enter. Seems the PSU is not overbuilt at all, but should handle the load. And if you built a system for 2k that outperforms it, good for you. Yours wasn't FREE, now was it? A FREE system that will kill when running Eve is a winbutton in my book. <entered>

You buy your own parts via Newegg/Tiger Direct, you're probably getting at least half of those as OEM or equivalent. Also, labor. When you factor in the time it takes to put it together, install OS and drivers, configure everything and make sure it works right...
The only real issue I see in this build is that the PSU looks a little wimpy for a Core i7, dual 560's, probably some case fans, and the drives. Remember that a 1k watt PSU isn't necessarily drawing 1k W all the time, just that it can provide that much (or near it) if need be. Better to go over than to fit exactly to margins. --------------------------------------

Maybe the airbrush is worth $1200 ?
Well, take the components, that are inside [insert random iMac/MacBook] and you will save $1000 also...
the PSU is enough. I'm loving the guys that "need 1000W for their extrem hardcore gaming machine" - take a named one, and you are good with 500W.

If you don't get it, nothing I say will change that. There's a huge difference between building your own car and buying a Porche. Opportunity cost...look it up. That and the fact that some manufacturers just do a stellar job worth paying a premium for.

If they declare it as being worth 3k$ then you'll pay 20% of that as your inport duty. Best make sure the power supply can cope with UK voltage too, US power supplys are SOMETIMES specc'd for 110/120v ONLY, but for about 60/70 quid you can fix that. ----------- Never Forget the joy of finding a main to link to a scammer alt. Agreed, and it sounds like my alt-box is in yer living room, mmmm windowed on low... If I wasn't so cheap I may upgrade. However 600 worth of import tax is cheaper than 3K for the PC...

Like almost all other power supply's these days this one supports multiple voltage ranges. From the spec sheet: Universal AC Input [Full Range]
You'll actually be hard pressed to find a power supply not supporting both 110/120 and 220/240 volt. The cheaper ones might have a manual switch while the rest are automatic.

Facebook terms don't allow "liking" a page to enter into a contest, hence the reason why they have set up a "new" contest. Based on that I think it's safe to assume that the first iteration of the contest (the one that broke the facebook rules) is no longer valid and if you wish to participate this is now the way to do it.

It would have been nice to see CCP actually address that and apologize to all of those who entered the first time. Instead, we get a new contest announced and total silence about the first one. CCP really, really needs to up their ability to communicate to their customers. Does CCP have an official Communications Specialist in employ? If not, they should really think about getting one.
