For many PvP'ers and PvP corps playing this game, Eve-kills.com has become a great place to post up your kill mails, keep track of kills, etc.
Recently it's been upgraded to a really kewl point system and features a top 15.
Now the lame part.
It seems Spinal has been posting kill mails from...of all places...the test server. (click and see for yourself).
Thought I'd share for a group point and laugh.

I don't see the big fuss about all this. EvE kills is there to record kills, if Spinal wants to record his SiSi kills then let him.

Well the point is Eve-Kills is designed to keep track of the kills taking place in the real eve, eg. Tranquility, not for the test server.
Im sure Ayal (the admin of eve kills) would agree with this!

He sits in the FFA in a gank setup with 6/7 buddies to help him, quite sad really. Defies the whole point of a FFA, but ah well there you go, show's the quality of the players that play on it now (not saying all players, most are tidy, just you get quite a few people like this nowadays  )
-edit- The whole bunch seem to be doing it, looks like they never get any kills on TQ, can't really blame them from having to go team on Sisi to get some

Putting a kill mail from the test server on eve-kills is just as bad as putting a completely fake kill mail on eve-kills, cause it means absolutly nothing.
blah blah eve-kills is a priveledge not a right, stupid people should be banned from it.

FFA = Free For All aka free shooting , gankin or whatever sems liek you are even upset playing on a server where everything is free ffs .. and yes i often get my ass kicked when i drop even out of warp but wtf ? its a FFA so who cares and its free , if you really want to try to set up something i doubt any1 will say FU tbh , whine whine whine ....is all you lot can do it seems , ffs he admit he was wrong so why ***** even more , they prob fix it an done period .

Well, it's beyond an "obvious mistake" or n00bishness. It exposes a significant weakness in the entire process of posting mails to the site. It's entirely possible people could post forged kills altogether, even through the IGB. This is, I think, the key reason people don't place much weight in this site, or kill mails in general. I know it's 100% of the reason _I_ don't post kills there. I know my posts are honest, and I believe in my corpmates honesty as well, but everyone else is suspect, which is why we only post our kills to our own killboard.
On the other hand, if CCP would create an official eve killboard, pulling the kills from an internal db,it would have far greater integrity and truly show who is the "best" and "worst" in eve.

People work hard trying to get to the top of the kill boards, it keeps you from being lazy, sitting in the station drinking quafe all day when you should be out there blowing stuff up.

Thx for all the good words about EVE-Kills.
Yes, Spinal has done this and he will not do it anymore.
I will offcourse delete all those killmails and resyncronise the statistics.
Besides, it won't be possible anymore by this weekend, atleast in some cases.

Well, I think it just points out how useless eve-kills.com realy is. Theres no way to verify any of the killmails on there, except talk to both parties for each and every kill.
I use it only as a way to track my own kill/losses. The ranking system is pointless, as statpadding with fake mails is way too easy. Nothing eve-kills.com can realy do about it. But people actualy taking eve-kill scores for a way of measuring peoples uberness is even more sad than the fake posters.

Why are so many people knocking this site?
It's the best killboard out there since it's open and anyone can use it. When both sides of a conflict use the board to record kills/losses then surely the statistics must be accurate? If a killmail conflicts with a loss mail then someone is obviously cheating and will be named and shamed. People will be very quick to point out ANY suspect killmails posted by their enemies...
Seems to me like a lot of the detractors aren't near the top of the rankings list...

When u die it gets registered as as soon as u get your death mail and same when u get your kill mail.
No cheeeeeating in that. Understandable it would prob make TQ more unstable soo maybe that aint such a good idea!

Gyrn - you're right of course. If people really want to cheat you can't stop them. But this is the best thing we have at the moment. The only way to improve the system is for CC P to show a unique ID on each killmail which can then be looked up in an official killmail database. I was just pointing out that if people are cheating then it will be obvious, this system is better than a "closed" killboard.

You honestly think that is valid? Well eve-kill.com would. Could do the same for a lossmail - I imagine it's unauthenticated, right? If so, I could post lossmails and killmails for all sorts of people. Nasty. Untrustworthy and open to perfidy of all sorts.
Understand you completly but that's something I can't do about, aslong as ccp doesn't give us access to a db to verify it. But, the system also does some basic checks on killmails and you won't be able to add this killmail for instance.
