Let's say I'm mining in a belt in a couple of Hulks (dual-boxing) with drones out, and somebody comes buy and messes with my jetcans.
I now have kill rights on him, but he no doubt has friends nearby waiting to gank me if I try to utilize my kill rights.
But what if I send my drones on him (I believe that's now doable just by pressing the F key, assuming I already have him target locked) and then warp out?
What will my drones do? Will they continue to attack him after I'm warped out? Or will they stop once I'm some thousand km away?
Same for a mission site. Say my Nighthawk or Drake is getting low on shields, 25%'ish, and I'm in the mood for letting my drone suicide themselves on the rats, so I don't retract them to bay before warping out. Will that do me any good, will they continue to fight the rats for some time, or forever (until the drones die anyway), after I'm gone? Or have I just wasted a million or two ISK worth of T2 drones?

As soon as you hit warp, your drones are abandoned. They'll deactivate and wait around for you to return.
Any rats in the area will happily pop them in your absence, in my experience.

To put it another way: they will continue to do what you told them to do, as long as you remain on grid.
So you could warp inside a mission pocket (Blockade for example) while your drones will continue to fight. ... unfortunately the rats will probably target the drones as soon as you enter warp. Hrmm.. but.. if you warp between your sentries and another spot .. you might be able to let them attack targets in between.. and as soon as those get close to your drones warp back in .. scoop up drones, warp to the other spot ..
Spot A----- rats ----- Spot B
Cool I think I just invented: Ze WARPTANK :D

You'd have to fit a lot of Drone Link Augmenters to make it work.

If he messes with your jetcans and turns flashy red, your entire corp can aggress him, but only hecan agress back without getting popped by concord, his friends can't. They can, however, remote rep him or one may warp an orca to you both whereby the can-flipper boards a more combat-worthy ship and nukes your hulk.
Bottom line: don't jetcan mine unless you're baiting can-flippers!

So if I'm in belt with 2 omni-tanked Hulks with 10xT2 light drones total, I might stand a chance at getting away with hitting that F key, after all?
(My main and alt are in the same corp, and in the same fleet.)

He will get kill rights to you for 15 minutes the moment you attack him. And he is expecting you to attack him.
Its not usually a smart move from your part.

But only he gets kill rights on me (and my alt), his corp mates don't?

They make a campfire, pop open a bottle of whiskey, take out a guitar, and sing bawdy songs. Some of them may dance around the campfire too, if you're away too long.

Hit "Return" before you warp out and you'll be able to control them when you warp back in.
