So most people have seen, or at least heard of, the show "Deadliest Catch." A show that involved one of the deadliest professions in the world, crab fishing.
So, on earth perhaps this is one of the deadliest professions, but what do you believe is the "Deadliest Catch" of eve?

By "Deadliest Catch", I think he meant "dangerous ISK-generating opportunity", not "how to make sure you lose a lot of ISK for lulz."

Hey, you can make bank on wagers as to whose pods (if any) make it back home after an engagement deep in enemy territory. ===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

Err.... if crab fishermen had clones waiting for them when they died, I don't think 'Deadliest Catch' would have ever been made.

hmm... To be on par with the show imo it needs to be some sort of a carebear profesion similar to mining or something... Pve involves more combat, imo thats more like some RL military professions. Gas cloud harvesting...in hostile wh... ...or the same in 0.0 "booster" constellations...
On a side note... Whats with all the shows about fishing on "discovery channel" and similar channels ?!?! Fishing is one of most boring things in the world...and a show about fishing (no matter how deadly its still fishing) is more boring than mining in eve :P

I find it fairly unfortunate that in the year 2011, with all the advancements in science and technology, the most dangerous work on earth is crab fishing... If those damn crabs are worth dying for, give those poor fishers some remote-controlled boats or something :)

The fact that it isn't automated is probably a pretty good indicator that it's not as dangerous as the Entertainment Industry (even the so-called educational parts of it) would have you believe. But "Old Meth-head on the Sea" is a lot more interesting than "robot cleans the casings of a nuclear reactor."
As far as dangerous EVE professions... the only ones that are actually dangerous are the ones that can get you removed from the game permanently. So exploiting, RMTing, botting, etc. Everything else is just a cost/benefit ratio. In fact, manufacturing has a 100% fatality rate of the materials with losses recovered by selling the resulting product.

P.S. I know people that do just that. And you wouldn't believe the income levels they claim to have from it.
I tried. but i cant really get beyond 300m isk/hour
To me, its not really worth the risk.

Well, the pod is seldom in danger itself, so it's usually just the ship, which you don't necessarily have to overpimp, and you won't be dying THAT often if you pay attention (not for long anyway, there's not an infinite number of "predators", so you can watch for them) so overall, I would say you make MUCH more than slow-running L4s in highsec even after you take into account all possible losses. _
