Hey everyone heres my situation I have a Ubuntu 10.4 distro with the ATI HD 6850 graphics card running it. My issue is that my ships simply refuse to look nice... Yes, thats my only issue. The games runs, i can drag and drop stuff in my hangar, I can look at a very weird version of what a Dominix is supposed to be... The ship does not render correctly its as if someone gave every single renderable object in the game triangles only.
glxinfo | grep rendering direct rendering: Yes
lspci -nn | grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Device
glxinfo |grep vendorserver glx vendor string: ATI grep: glx: No such file or directory
I have the official ATI driver for the HD series for linux...
I would really love for my dominix to look sexy again please help, I have been at this for a while now...

Edited by: Vince Doe on 30/04/2011 17:45:39 Hello Drexic,
regarding the lagging issue (short freezes). I can confirm this issue with Wine 1.3.15 - 1.3.18. Version 1.3.19 not tested yet. I'm using version 1.3.14 currently but i'm using the ATI Opensource drivers instead of the closed Source FGLRX driver.

Drexic,
Replace glxinfo |grep vendorserver glx vendor string: ATI by glxinfo |grep "vendorserver glx vendor string: ATI"
Or simply glxinfo | grep vendor and read the good line.
