I would like to see a good book of EVE's backstory. Would be good in many ways - attract more people to eve, give something for eve players to read, etc.
Would work out very well imo. EVE has one of if not the best back stories I have ever seen, that should be taken advantage of. --------
FireFoxx80: If you think you can do a better job, go find yourself a datacentre to host a box, get a copy of Visual Studio, and STFU. |

Originally by: kieron A range of books are in the future, including more fiction, artwork and perhaps even a "technical readout" of the ships in the game.
Instead of expanding the background on the website or in PDFs, how about including what's already there in the game? I'd prefer to have an NPC in-game talking to me about some cool eye candy stuff rather than having to read it in a chronicle... (and, of course, actually adding the mentioned eye candy in space for us to see!).

That would be fun! Especially if there's a submission system for players to write columns in there...

It just hapends im reading the nights dawn triology, got the first book from a friend as X mas gift, and when i read that one finnished i noticed there was TWO MORE..
so i got them today, yay.. 1250 times 2 more pages to read :)
and i highly recomend them.. im impressed by the "real" sci-fi he writes, esp the parts with the commandos (or what you can call them, living tanks? or computer controled flesh? this is one of the first sci-fi "soldiers" i can pretty much imagine will exist in some hundred years..)

I'd really like those technical readout things, tell me more about what you mean by it though. I'd like to hear about the stories about the creation of the ships, their intended purpose, battles they have been in, etc. But a book or three about the history of EVE would be great. You'd really have to make up alot of stuff, though, since most of the story is blank, save for a few events that are explained, like the amarr/jove war and things like that.
As far as ship-fitting suggestions, don't do that. It would just go even further to make all ships have cookie-cutter setups.

"CCP. Software testing and patch deployment. The do nots"
Heh heh sorry couldn't resist. I'll go keelhaul myself by way of apology.
A technical readout of ships would be good. trouble is it would change after every patch

Instead of ship fittings I'd rather like to see articels about each ship and item type, pros and cons, stuff like that.
Neways. I'd love to see books about the background story.
Even better would be books about the adventures of some characters in the EVE universe though.
Kinda like Egosoft did it with the X Series. (Did they actually translate the books into English...?)
I'm worried about shipping costs, though.
