Looks like old school matte work, which is a good thing.

Thay'll be even better if we can have the option to dim them at will, or turn them off.

Obviously someone doesn't know how they will be used/implemented.

From what I could read between the lines about macros/bots from CCP Sreegs (*) this will never happen.. (I'm referring to the change to the widescreen mode with the black bars at the bottom and the top of the screen and how this affected those 'players')
*) who is missing in the Dev Finder page btw..

With the updated nebula coming soon, I hope they fix ships warping through planents as well ...........

What has 'ships warping through celestials' to do with a 'simple refurbishing of the skybox texture'?
One involves swapping some bitmap files for a set of new ones and assign every solar system one.
The other involves hampering with the clients render engine at best (calculate some different fly-path than the server actually has you at and show this 'fake' to the guy on the screen) or a total rewrite of the physics simulation at worst (those edge cases where the celestial is just right at the end of your warp-tunnel-exit and you would have been coming in to the gate from the 'side' rather than the 'front' to not fly through it)

warping through planets used to bother me, not anymore however. i'm sure the fix for that would be long, complicated and ultimately not worth the effort

Edited by: Nishachara on 05/05/2011 01:39:03 lol.. at whines about warping through celestials
Imho i would be more bothered at not warping through celestials and it would more break my immersion...
..when in warp you are NOT in normal 3+1 dimensional space time... period...
The planets/moons/suns are really not there when you are in warp :P
Not in eve..and not in RL (when somebody actually takes that theory into practice and moves faster than light via warp drive or something like that)
Imho ..warp would be more logical if you would not see anything through and beside which you are flying...only black until you exit the warp bubble :P

Celestial objects or celestial bodies .......> celestials? Why would they need to calculate new fly paths, bro-hanas, when they can just move the planet

I take this as a compliment to my writing skills in English that I get criticised for making mistakes in a foreign language. Thx for pointing that out though.. same to the guy above, made me look it up and add to my knowledge.

Move it where? Out of the way of every possible warp-path? And then the same for every gate and every station and every moon? Yeah, right..
