always bugged me - nearly a km long ship and it only has 8 guns.
It's time they introduced batteries - a module that fits 3 cruiser guns in it and then is fitted into a BS gun slot. It also should get the BS bonuses. Yeah that would make for some interesting fits :)

So you can double all battleships' DPS and give them better tracking?

Yes but think about an ecm ship - it will be able to shut down 2x more DPS per BS.
And of course smaller guns have less range.
And think about how much ammo 3x8 medium guns would use - I'm sure whoever decides to go this way will bankrupt themselves.
As an alternative make the modules which carry the guns reduce the ROF. The BS would still be able to carry more guns , with better tracking - and the DPS won't jump to unbalanced levels.
Yeah - make eve jump with excitement - also bring back the BS.
