My corp is living in nullsec and rents systems from Shadow of xXDEATHXx. I'm not concerned with actual amounts or anything for this post. We're still pretty new at this and trying to sort out how to make it work.
What I'm looking for is how some corps make the money to pay the rent and make extra money for the corp. What we've been doing is setting a goal in isk that covers rent and puts some money in the corp wallet. Problem is, to reach that goal, we have to charge each person (not by toon, but by actual person) a large sum of isk since the corp really isn't very big. It's not really too much compared to what can be made, but is enough we lose recruits over the rent issue; however, usually when we do they seem to just be greedy and have bad attitudes. We are trying to build the corp wallet to institute an ore buyback program for the miners, buy BPs for production, and keep isk available for corp expansion. We don't run mining ops where corp keeps the ore, and we have a 5% tax on NPC bounties, but we're in the dronelands.
I'd just like some feedback on what other corps do to grow their wallets and pay rent, or just let me know if we're pretty much doing it right.
Constructive comments only please. I'm looking to improve life for my guys, and without fresh ideas to present to the CEO and Financial Director, things will continue on the same path.

You invade Geminate, make billions and billions from the 6/10's and escallations. Then leave 7 months later when it's someone else's turn.
Pretty easy really.

Divide up how much in ransom the DRF is holding you for by how many pilots you have in your corp, and make people responsible to pay their portion.
MIND = BLOWN
I am fully aware this a pretty bad troll, because if you could not figure that out I would feel bad that you were put in any kind of leadership position what so ever.

Increase tax to 10-15% we currently pay 25% tax which alot of people go "How much?????" but you still make enough to pvp so nobody minds.
Bascially if people are leaving because they are not making enough your better off without them. Also go to a better area or join an alliance that doesnt charge rent.

Living in the drone regions requires a different approach to maintaining a fleet, as you don't see rat bounties. To pay your rent, you're going to have to establish a logistics chain to a place where you can offload all of the minerals you're bringing in -- typically this would be empire space. If your corporation is active enough, this should provide enough isk to cover your rent. To start, I'd suggest a monthly quota of materials posted to your forums, updated often.
Once you've managed that, the next step is to organize your ship builders and start production plans that make it worth the trouble. If you are truly pvp-oriented, this will be a great place to start building a corporate war-chest: Dreadnoughts, Supercarriers, and Titans.

Thanks for the replies....well 2 of them haha. We are trying to get the market to come up a little in our area, and we plan to start cap ship production within the next couple months. Have a system we'll be renting very near a trade hub for that, other stuff will still be made in our current area. Logistics has been a slight problem, but we have JF to use, so we just gotta work out the kinks.

Interesting situation, its hard to say without knowing how much you pay and how many members you have, but i think there are definitely ways to ease the burden on members.
As someone mentioned somewhat sarcastically, moon mining is actually a good way for a corp to make some income, even if your fairly small. While you may not be able to get your hands on a bunch of tech or dyspro moons, there are lots of moons out there in lowsec and unclaimed in null that you could consider dropping towers on. If you can set up a few towers and an alchemy chain, its not bad money.
You could also schedule corp ops to make money for the corp as a whole, either mining or ratting or whichever your corp does. If you get enough people showing up and do it like once a week, you should put a good dent in whatever the rent may be.
Also, you could consider asking members to help with some passive stuff. PI is good in nullsec, and if you want to fully exploit the space your paying for, i would make sure all your members set up PI out there, and maybe hand out command centers (which are super cheap) and ask people to donate one planet worth of resources each to corp, which will also put a dent in rent payments.
I think the key is making sure the corp is attacking the problem from all angles, and eventually it shouldn't be too difficult to get the corp able to pay rent without asking for any cash donations from members.
