Hello everybody! I was going to try, to send this to some one of the staff, but I want to see what people have to say about this. I got this idea, about the way, that planetary battlefields of EVE should look like. Besides soldiers running around the battlefield, I would love to see MECHS making there way in the battle. Those of you who has ever played "MechWarrior" understands me already. So just try to imagine that you land on the planet, get in your mech (which can be fitted as you ship and you are playing a completely different game, with all the "Cool stuff" from EVE and the best MACHINES for land battles.
1. Yes! I think IT ALL has to be ONE GAME! In space of EVE and on planets of EVE. 2. Making up ANOTHER (ONE OF MANY) "SHOOTER" is NO GOOD, MECHS ARE A LOT MORE FUN. 3. I know it's a BIG PLAN and it is a HUGE AMOUNT OF WORK we're talking about ... IT IS A NEW WORLD TO MAKE ... BUT CCP DID IT ONCE, I'M SURE THAY CAN DO IT AGAIN IT MIGHT SEEM CRAZY IDEA, BUT I'M PRETTY SURE THAT IT WILL BRING EVE FAR ABOVE EVERY THING ELSE THAT COULD EVER COMPARE TO IT.

If CCP made DUST 514 even halfway like Battlefield 2142, but with more futuristic stuff and less "clunky" physics, I'd be incredibly happy.
I'm really looking forward to DUST 514. It will also be cool seeing what pirate faction gear or troops look like, if they introduce NPC assaults on planets. I'd imagine the Blood Raider and Sansha infantry would be scary as hell Unity Prevails. |

I'm definately looking forward to it as well. I'm a bit nervous about making it console only but I can certainly see their reasoning. If it simply had troops and tanks and mechs that were realistic and not twitch-based mech combat, i'd get it in a heartbeat. I can see it now... playing Eve and shooting crap above the planet, then playing my soldier on the console at the same time... will be awesome... _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

Military MTACs can carry multitudes of weaponry like antiair and surface-to-surface missiles, railguns and plasma cannons (for the caldari models featured in the revelations novel). They have integrated shield generators and tough armor plating. In a manner of speaking, they are "walking tanks". They are not very big usually, just 4 to 5 metres in height and ideally suited to urban warfare, where they can exploit cover easily and use the enhanced mobility afforded by having legs. Real groundhugging tanks have more mass, are tougher and pack more firepower but lack mobility.
just how it should be, walkers are light armor, tanks are heavy armor.

tnx LOL56, MTACs are cool (they look like "gears" from Mtrix movie), but they are nothing like the MECHs I meant ... i'm sure that they will make some larger MTACs later ... any way BADAS5 MECHs are a lot better than stupid tanks or any thing like ^^

I could see mechanized heavy infantry to full blown war suits but they shouldn't over do it. If that happened we might have a halo remake to an iron man/war machine rip off. Specific campaigns on district areas of planets would be cool if borders change over territorial disputes, not to mention command ranks of the guys seeing a strategy game on a war barge and the infantry playing a FPS then the tank people... Well tank people do what they do best, blow stuff up.

Those MATC's look cool. Mechs are a terrible idea anyway. Customizable Tanks, on the other hand . . .

Why stop there? I mean after ground mech, I am sure humanoids ground mech wont be a problem as well.
And then make a storyline like the original gundam anime. I can totally see Caldari became the Zion couterpart of Eve, maybe they'll replace space fighters launched by carriers into space Zaku I and the a T2 equivalent is space Zaku II, fighter bomber would be space DOM suit and T2 fighter bomber would be a space Gelgoog. Gallente would be the federation and use space balls and the T2 would be space GM varieties, fighter bomber would be a f***ing Gundam!
To those who have no idea what I am talking about please google the gundam series.
I have no idea what Amarr and Minmattar mobile suit would be though, any ideas?
minmattar: Junk bot flying through space and amarr would look like a templar with wings perhaps? So amarr would use the wing gundam with laser buster rifle! Awesome!
Coming o Eve online nearest to you in 5 years, after ground mech in dust.
