I totally agree. You want to be a griefing goon, then you deserve to get scammed. The only thing worse than Goons is all the trolls in C&P. They are like Cockroaches.

People still get scammed out of the full rate of 500m. Not that I would know or anything. 
Also Goonwaffe is not "invite only". We do have recruitment requirements (which are publicly viewable on our wiki) that are there to prove you're not 1. a j4g and 2. That you don't have a Xenuria level personality disorder

OK, I never said that... Goons are actually fun to fly with. But moaning about a scamming corp scamming you when you tried to join is more than a little hypocritical.

We also have a public ingame channel that states "if you paid ISK to join you were scammed" in big, red letters in the MOTD. Everywhere the corp is involved directly it says "don't pay money to get in". And still people are happy to pay "recruitment fees". I consider that a kind of idiot tax.

What's funny is how people fall for it. Some fanboy pm'd me and said he wanted to be a pirate, I said id teach him for a fee. 150Mil was my 1st offer but I lowered it to 75 mil. Then I told him to contract all his ships so I could haul it, again he obliged I was amazed ay such stupidity I closed Convo then the tears started flowing
it ended with a "I trusted you" and I said well atleast I taught you something...
Don't trust pirates. I did this 1morr fome for a total of 550 mil.

The fact that this is probably the most documented scam in EVE makes the OP tears even sweeter.
There's a Wiki about it, it's on their recruitment website, and last time I checked it was in their corp/allinace info.
If you're *still* mentally deficient enough to get scammed, you should probably go back to WoW and let Blizzard hold your hand.

I like the people complaining that nothing will happen about these scams because the Goons have someone on CSM now.
Like if this had happened six months ago, it would have been a bannable offence.

I almost felt for this, in the beginning everything sounded okay , till they asked for 500m on a site, which I did not have. hey I just started to Play EVE after 2 + year. I said I don't have assets or ISK for it. Then a guy that had been a member for 1 day which was in same channel "thunderpub" convo me and said he could "lend" me 500m if I contracted some ships i had which was worth not more than maybe 200m. It was here I figure this was a Scam. So yes, they still continue. Name for the guy was ROCKYID btw.
Way to go CCP. Only care of $$$. If you want to keep your players, try at least to clean up this type of scams.
