So I browse these forums everyday cause I do nothing at work as it goes against my work ethic. I see alot of references to notorious players who have been banned or have done some noteworthy things. So please give me some cool stories of corporate thieves or ebay isk sellers or players who exploited the game in some way. |

Shouldn't they publicize bannings so that other people don't commit the bannable offense? As it stands, CCP has a reputation for not banning for anything.

you aren't allowed to talk about bans you aren't allowed to talk about conversations with GMs you aren't allowed to talk about decisions made by GMs

If exploits were openly discussed on these forums, how long do you think it would take for 90% of the player base to use these exploits themselves?

OK didnt know bout the hush hush on bans but it was mainly the characters who did something like rip off a big corp or just someone who got a big reputation in the game.

That makes sense, of course. But the thing is, you aren't allowed to talk about them even after they are fixed and no longer repeatable.

You can talk about bans, so long as you don't discuss the reasons. Jade was banned from the forums. See?
You can talk about conversations with GM's, you just can't quote them. I've had loads, some made sense.
You are allowed to talk about descisions, but still no quoting them, or discussing those descisions. I have found most GM descisions to be fair and sensible. Not all, mind you, but most.
You can't discuss moderation here though, so I won't push my luck there ______________________________________________

I've seen that link removed from threads before because of profanity. Beware!

Pff, Ruthless had a quite a few 'nasty' words in it too, so if they remove the link, I'll call em hypocrites! Then probably get banned... ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

One of the most notorious incidents was when Zombie Inc. camped Yulai and killed a HUGE number of people using smartbombs. They had one apoc running large smartbombs on auto repeat and it had about 8 other battleships remote boosting it's shields and transferring energy. That stopped concord from killing blowing up the apoc. I think everyone involved got a temporary ban. There's a video of it out there somewhere.

Just to clarify, they did not get a ban for doing it, they got punished for not stopping after told to by a GM. ______________________________________________

I enjoyed reading this. No matter if it is true or not, it's a good read.

I think it was a bad move. What they should have done was to organize an event to kill supporting Zombie ships in Yulai. GMs could simply lower the security rating of those support ships to -5 and then it would have been free for all. It would have been fun and believable from game's point of view.
Instead GMs acted completely out of character by banning them. Banning people is an exploit of game mechanics, it makes no sense from game's point of view, it should be avoided at all costs.

Players who have received a ban (or a warning) are not displayed/listed here on the forums for all to see. There are numerous reasons for this, one of which is to ensure their privacy and also because issues such as these are between CCP and the player. There is no need to make them open to the public.

Somebody needs to pay more attention. It super obvious that some people have been banned, and those are only the ones peopel notice. What about all the smaller less-famous people that nobody knows?
Check out the Eve-i forums.
