Edited by: Fiona Korvin on 11/05/2011 08:45:16 I'm currently making a plan to get into an Orca and then an Rorqual. The idea is to use it for mining boosts. I've included the skill list, and would hope for some advice on it. The skills is also based on the following setup for a rorqual: HIGH 1 x Capital Tractor Beam I 1 x Industrial Core I 1 x Clone Vat Bay I 1 x Improved Cloaking Device II 1 x Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Optimization 1 x Mining Foreman Link - Laser Optimization MED 2 x Large Shield Extender II 1 x Invul Field II 1 x Heat Dissipation Field II 1 x Ballistic Deflection Field II 1 x Photon Scattering Field II 1 x Capital Shield Booster I LOW 3 x Expanded Cargohold II RIG 3 x Large Cargohold Optimization I DRONES: 5 x Valkyrie II 5 x Vespa EC-600 10 x Hornet EC-300 5 x Curator I
Comments on the fitting is also apreciated :)

Edited by: Baneken on 11/05/2011 10:51:41 First assign your plan to follow a specific attribute set and put you capital training to end of the list, then set up remapping points. That way you'll have a capital with support skills, not other way around. Also train those "lvl 2" skills to IV, 2-3 days isn't much compared to over all length of you plan, also you might want to be able to fly a hulk as well since you have to train that astrogeology anyway.
edit: You're also missing ore reprocessing skills needed to compress the ore from your training plan.

I must admit I don't get the part with following a specific attribute? I don't decide what attribute the skills follow, CCP does.
Thank you for the heads up regarding the compression skills... Forgot those :) ----------------------------------------------- First one to tag me get's a free beer and a free BBQ! |

If you want to compress, you will need the ore and ice refining skills to level 4.
You'll also want Cybernetics 5 for a Mining Foreman implant.
I don't recommend taking a Rorqual out of the POS force field. This changes how it is fit. Also, if you do need to take it out for some reason, you change the fit to something for travel. I keep a lot of other modules in the corporate hangar.
This is how my Rorqual is fit.
[Rorqual, Booster] Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II
Command Processor I Command Processor I 100MN MicroWarpdrive II Dread Guristas Photon Scattering Field Invulnerability Field II Invulnerability Field II Capital Shield Booster I
Industrial Core I Armored Warfare Link - Passive Defense Siege Warfare Link - Shield Harmonizing Mining Foreman Link - Harvester Capacitor Efficiency Mining Foreman Link - Laser Optimization Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Field Enhancement
Large Cargohold Optimization I Large Cargohold Optimization I Large Cargohold Optimization I
Warrior II x10 Garde II x5 Ogre II x5

As you know we have a 2 sets of attributes per skill so what you do is read as much skills as you can with your current attribute set before you remap to a seconds phase of your skill plan.
We could take an example of my plan for capitals; I started it out with per/mem and pumped up all my relevant "left over" drone/gunnery skills that I had and then I switched it all over to int/mem to train all the support skills you have in mechanic/science/navigation that had int or memory as requirement this planning has saved me for almost a 100days from my initial unordered plan.
Though I have admit that at the beginning of my plan I had 3 years of sub cap skills under my belt and that the removal of learning skills (5mil sp) saved me a lot of training time and effort.

So, basicly what I should do is train all the skills that have Intelligence as main, as my intelligence is 31 atm, and then when I can't train any more with intelligence, I'll remap to the cap related? ----------------------------------------------- First one to tag me get's a free beer and a free BBQ! |

Exactly that, also download evemon and you will see the light.

Or if you find you have a hard time sticking to a long plan (I do), map to something that is good enough but still flexible.
Examples:
* My Orca pilot has been 27i 19p 19m 17w 17c since day one, but now lives in a Rorqual (when not following me around in a Hulk, Noctis, Charon, Rhea, Bustard, Crane, or a Hurricane for archeology and codebreaking). His leaderships skills were the slowest, but luckily there are not that many of them to train.
int/mem + 4 implants: ((27 + 4) + (21 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2610 SP/hour int/per + 4 implants: ((27 + 4) + (19 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2550 SP/hour mem/per + 4 implants: ((19 + 4) + (19 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2070 SP/hour per/wil + 4 implants: ((19 + 4) + (17 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2010 SP/hour wil/per + 4 implants: ((17 + 4) + (19 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 1950 SP/hour cha/wil + 4 implants: ((17 + 4) + (17 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 1890 SP/hour
* My Hulk-only pilot is 23i 21p 21m 17w 17c and is now just about finished mastering missiles and a Tengu (and a Charon, Crane, Bustard).
int/mem + 4 implants: ((23 + 4) + (21 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2370 SP/hour int/per + 4 implants: ((23 + 4) + (21 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2370 SP/hour mem/per + 4 implants: ((21 + 4) + (21 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2250 SP/hour per/wil + 4 implants: ((21 + 4) + (17 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2130 SP/hour wil/per + 4 implants: ((17 + 4) + (21 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 2010 SP/hour cha/wil + 4 implants: ((17 + 4) + (17 + 4) / 2) * 60 = 1890 SP/hour
I really like the last mapping, as on a wide selection of skills it has provided over 2000 SP/hour (doesn't have any leadership skills), which is my personal benchmark for a good training rate.
You don't have to have the perfect training plan or the perfect attribute mapping.
