Edited by: Mo Shizzler on 11/05/2011 15:07:40 In angymonne I noticed a lot of npc corp ice miners using identical set ups. 1 orca + 2 macks in the first set up, totaling 27 characters. 1 orca + 2 mack + 2 retriever, totalling 35 characters (7 groups). In all there is 60+ characters. These characters don't only mine in the 3 angymonne ice fields, but also antollare and tolle ice fields, these are just 1-3 jumps away. The 27 characters that consist of 1 orca + 2 macks all log on and off at the same time. The 35 other characters consisting of 1 orca, 2 mack, 2 retrievers, also log on and off all at the same time, but a different time to the 27 characters, always at least an hour apart.
Some characters from both the 27 miners group share the same names as some from the 35 miner group. Many characters from both groups share the same character creation dates. These days are 2010.08.31, 2010.03.14, many of the others were probably purchased characters, having been in many different corps, but have been in npc corps for 3 months 8 days, 5 months and 4 days or 11 months and 28 days.
ALL characters from the 35 miner group (7x5 orca groups) were born on the same dates, 2010.08.31, 2010.03.14 - both of these dates are the same dates used in the 27 characters mentioned earlier, 2011.04.08, or have been in npc corps for 11 months and 28 days - There's a familar date from the 27 strong group. Every character from the 35 strong group (7x5 characters consisting of 1 orca + 2 mack + 2 ret) Has the same dates used over and over, i'll give an example...
orca group 1 (tolle ice field) bitardo - 2010.08.31 febuzi kumamato - 2011.04.08 fodecto enderas - 2011.04.08 jack sirac - 2010.03.14 kal tiru - in npc corp for 11 months and 28 days
orca group 2 (tolle ice field)
andoca - 2010.08.31 ectinov sakari - 2011.04.08 entcove kusoni - 2011.04.08 mac mac01 - 2010.03.14 abdub malsharif - in npc corp for 11 months and 28 days
orca group 3 (angymonne ice field)
conipa - 2010.08.31 acpetu ozuwara - 2011.04.08 afecra kugisa - 2011.04.08 mac mac02 - 2010.03.14 yode - in npc corp for 11 months and 27 days
orca group 4 (angymonne ice field)
funicro - 2010.08.31 becopi kusoni - 2011.04.08 borgefa ichosira - 2011.04.08 orpeda - 2010.08.31 sei wan - in npc corp for 11 months and 28 days
orca group 5 (angymonne ice field)
cosipa - 2010.08.31 cogula isimazu - 2011.04.08 columek asanari - 2011.04.08 olecap - 2010.08.31 katalis lightbringer - in npc corp for 11 months and 28 days
orca group 6 (antollare ice field)
rohk raser - in npc corp for 11 months and 28 days hentoga akiga - 2011.04.08 huvizo hilanen - 2011.04.08 cicaboom - 2010.03.14 ou rosu - in npc corp for 11 months and 27 days
orca group 7 (antollare ice field)
encoro - 2010.08.31 depive hita - 2011.04.08 deripe aishai - 2011.04.08 zekalina - in npc corp for 11 months and 28 days ou albastru - in npc corp for 11 months and 27 days
As you can see, the same 5 dates are used between all 35 characters. These are all npc corp characters, all mining ice in identical group set ups in Antollare, Angymonne and Tolle systems, these systems are right next to each other. Wow, i can't believe i just typed all that, but it's the only way to get attention to this. I may aswell list the other 27 characters. I'll have to split this over 2 posts.

This is only half of the characters, there is 27 more characters, identical in every way but one, these 27 characters mine in groups of 3 instead, they don't have the 2x retrievers. They do use the same ice fields though and a lot of the 27 characters share the dates as the 35 named above - 2010.08.31, 2010.03.14. Some have the same names too.
aburi kenji - in npc corp for 5 months and 4 days bamburina - 2010.08.31 barabut - 2010.08.31 bila1 - in npc corp for 3 months and 8 days bila2 - in npc corp for 3 months and 8 days buvey - 2010.08.31 chicken one - 2010.03.14 darkkane3 - in npc corp for 5 months and 4 days first yoda - in npc corp for 3 months and 8 days gheretz - in npc corp for 11 months and 28 days jackie blades - in npc corp for 11 months and 27 days johnny crook - in npc corp for 11 months and 27 days kolikos - 2010.08.31 mandrice - 2010.08.31 midori shiji - in npc corp for 5 months and 4 days mihail kalashikov- in npc corp for 11 months and 27 days moonkees panker - in npc corp for 3 months and 8 days ou alb - in npc corp for 11 months and 27 days ou galben - in npc corp for 11 months and 27 days pherepapha - in npc corp for 3 months roidcruncher - in npc corp for 3 months rothface - in npc corp for 3 months and 8 days sagenne - 2010.08.31 shipana - 2010.08.31 susan landa - 2010.03.14 vandozar - 2010.08.31 yoda eve - in npc corp for 3 months and 8 days
These 27 characters are all divided into groups of 1 orca + 2 macks, spread over the ice fields of antollare, angymonne and tolle. They're all in npc corps and share the same character creation dates or npc corp join dates, aswell as sharing the same 2 dates that come up again and again in the previously mentioned 35 characters.
There's a total of 62 characters involved in this massive ice mining operation and they do it for 15-19 hours a day.
Make of it what you will, but considering the characters within the 2 large groups of 27 log in and out at the same time, and the 35 log in and out at the same time, most of these must be no more than 1 or 2 people.

Are you in a large group in the same NPC corp AND does your pod warp back to the belt even after your ship is destroyed?

Do you have 26 other mining characters who all log in and out at the exact same time and mine 15+ hours a day without taking breaks?

Why don't they just mass run missions? Doesn't mining ice only yield like 2mil an hour? Oh no you don't! Incoming witty reply, ETA: 300 seconds! |

Well I'm already missioning with my main char or "peeveepeeing" with my main so it's just a +that justifies the price I pay for my second account. So what?

Really awesome work, Mo ! No, is there anything we can do to help you, when they don't get banned soon ?
Like ... massive outcry about them not being banned ? Flood them with petitions ?
A ganking squad ? i'm in ! (surely didn't raise my secstatus so it stays up ...)
Just tell, i'm all ears.
And please keep us updated.
Thx.

Well, petitioning them may help. If you saw my thread http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1506888&page=1#18 about the other 4x 9 man corps of identical macrominers, none of those characters have logged in for days, so it's safe to assume they got the banhammer.

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!
WTF IS THIS %*@#%???
Is this a player taking the initiative and helping ccp fight the bot war by doing investigation on his own, taking notes and providing great evidence of bots?
This can't be!! Players are just supposed to whine and complain about bots on the forums, not actually make an "effort" to help ccp fight bots.
+5 to you good sir! Thank you for your time to help fight bots!

LOL obsidian you win the great post of the day. Also, you're right. +5 from me as well sir!
As a side note, every bot that I've investigated and petitioned/reported to CCP have not been seen again. they're really working on it, and if you want to see results, go find them bots yourself!

The reason so few players actually make this effort, is because far too often it doesn't even dent botters/ISK farmers.
2 years ago I spotted similar activity in a mission hub. A single day's worth of observation, research, logging and note-taking resulted in a petition explaining that all these 3-week old accounts with 5.0 standings flying Ravens in NPC corps and created on the same dates, are not made with noble intentions in mind.
My effort actually paid off, the GM informed me that my petition resulted in 150 accounts being banned. Local went from 70 on average down to about 40 in the main mission system, noticeable drops were seen throughout the entire constellation.
For a month.
I checked back a month later and the systems had nearly restored their numbers. I did another headcount and I found plenty of accounts mimicking the actions and behaviour of the ones I had observed earlier. Another petition was sent... and it took some days before some of those accounts were banned, but the rest were ignored and their numbers kept creeping up again.
By that point I just left it alone, I wasn't getting paid for this work, nor was I getting rewarded, and I had left the GMs with enough instructions on how to spot them, they could take over. I really doubt they did.
And therein lies the problem. It's clearly up to us players to spot, identify and report the botters/ISK farmers, but we get absolutely NOTHING for our efforts. There's no incentive to do this. Meanwhile, the botters/ISK farmers most often get to keep the ISK and mission loot, which they sell 90% of the time for real life money. For them it's a job, and a damn well-paid one at that. They have EVERY REASON to continue what they're doing. |

Where the hell are you people finding these groups? I'm scowering through 1/4 of Jita and I can't seem to find these botters. Yet, Mo over here manages to find whole droves of them in just a few systems. Either my search methods suck or I'm going senile.

My dear, the only way to be sure is to weight you down with stones and throw you into a lake. If you float, you're a witch.....I mean botter. If you don't, you're clean.

Nice Sherlock Holmes work there, +5.
Would be nice if we could get some sort of feedback re petitions for bots, ie "tolle ice field bots", confirmed and warned/banned, or some banned, some unable to confirm botting.etc.
or maybe GM's could add a icon of a magnifing Glass to the OP's post to signify they looking into it, and a stamp of banhammer/warning icon over the entire list to signify action taken, but not actually identify which toon it was for privacy
With maybe a running tally of numbers of bots warned. banned etc placed somewhere in forums
