Is there a reasonably popular station in the Kor-Azor region to use as a secondary trade hub, like Hek is to the Minmatar? If not, I'd like to invite traders to Nare. With enough participants we might be able to establish one. -------------------------------------------- Armor is the b*tch that's hard to take down. Beams are the hot b*tch that'll take you down hard. |

Kor-Azor prime is probably biggest but it barely qualifies as compared to other trade hubs.

Also its one gate away from Amarr so only really catches buyers who check the Kor Azor regional market without venturing further out.

Used to trade out of Nare a long time ago.
Was a good system; lots of good access to the far west and south.

This for the most part. It's right next door to Amarr, so anyone whom knows the area likely will just go to Amarr unless they really just need something that second or are lazy.

Kor-Azor Prime is crap, for the reasons others have stated.
The the good thing about Nare (besides being 10 jumps from Amarr) is that via the next door system Zinkon it has access a LOT of 0.0. If you are headed out of the South, chances are your autopilot will take you through Nare on the way.
Problem is, that assuming that pilot doesnt have access to a carrier or a jump bridge network or a corp replacement programme (which was fairly standard when I traded there, but not any more), chances are they have already gone 20-30 jumps already and 10 more jumps for better pricing isnt going to seem like a lot, especially when you consider they have to go all the way back home still.
In my opinion you would get people looking for the odd mod there, rather than replacing a whole ship and mods, and hence your turnover will be a lot lower.

Trust me, there are a lot more of those people than you think. The only problem is that the handful of traders making the market there are fairly active in updating prices on the stuff they sell.
This sort of market does have "holes" in it, where the traders there can't be bothered with restocking more than once a month sometimes or just are happy enough focusing on a more limmited number of items they produce or procure regularly (I 've done it other regions... you're going to run out of things or just not have enough orders or patience to seed everything .... )
I used to think it was ignorance that allowed people to pay 50% more for something that they could get a jump away , but i've moved over more to "convenience" (laziness to us penny pinchers, playint the part of the game they like to people buying isk with real $ through plex or UBER mission runners who make so much isk per minute that when they want a ship for pvp they buy at any price. I'll do that in 0.0 pvping but 5 to 10 minutes of jumping to a hub while browsing the forums on the other monitor get everyintg for sure in one place and save tens of millions is always worth it to me)
There is another factor though.. disgust when you lose a ship in a mission or pvp... for many its cathartic to immediately re-purcahase what they lost... they feel more whole again with the ship back even if their isk pile is smaller... if you got more isk than you know what to do with, the faster you can forget a loss the better sometimes.
edit ...forgot the other big reason for out of hub purchases:
many empire losses come from war dec ganks... the corps doing this sort of war-dec camp the hubs and wait for their prey coming to the "water hole" .
One jump away can mean the difference of keeping your ship by being able to undock in a war-target free system

Personnaly I enjoy Misha, it's right next to the Ice field in Ordion, and there always seems to be more and more foot traffic. Though I agree with the last post as well, sometimes, I can't be bothered with keeping up on Sell orders, I sell what I sell, when I want to sell it, I track who I sell to, and if anyone ever needed anything that bought from me... I'd hope they'd tell me.
I build most of my stuff that I use, most people that know me, know if they need something built big or small, I can do it, and 9 times out of 10, I do it cheaper, even if it cuts into my bottem line.

Based on this tool, I actually like Ordion, as well because it's my home base for now. It doesn't make much sense to put a trade hub in a cul-de-sac, but the traffic there is pretty good because it has level 2, 3 and 4 Amarr Navy agents - and, as you say, because of the ice field. It ranks as #4 in trading volume in the region.
Except for Kor-Azor Prime, all the suggested locations are good. But for location, Nare or Zinkon still make the most sense for their proximity to low-sec and the autopilot route. You have to be going to Ordion and Misha to get there - if you know what I mean.

So...does that not make it a hub yes?
