We took it out because it seems like a bit of an odd piece of information for the majority of our users. In general, having import/export features aren't really something I'm thrilled with.
What about the market logs? Or the killmails? Or what about just plain old combat and chat logs which are generated automatically?
And then there's the mess with the ship fittings import/export features. Which you obviously have tried to fix.
What was the real incentive for removing this fully functional non-buggy feature which was not or could not be tampered with? Server load? Narrowmindedness? RP reasons which only airhead devs could understand. The ones that believe that the EVE client can be a 100% fulfilling experience for any pod-pilot?

Edited by: Sandslinger on 22/05/2011 14:45:56 Get it back for the love of god !!!!
Every single wormhole corporation and alliance are completely dependent upon it for splitting up profits. Of all the things you added this one actually managed to make eve fun and less of a freaking second job for directors.
Taking something like that away with Zero warning whatsoever, and just some sort of glib remark like "we're not fans of it" afterwards
I don't usually rant or complain on forums but come on the F CCP !
We're talking thousands of players severely affected by you removing something that you already had in the game because your not fans. That's fine we don't need you to be, thousands of your customers are fans of it though.

I even told you Sw straight to your face in the dev talks on ff that we use the loot export heavily, guess this shows how little CCP devs both play the game they make and listen to customers. ------------------------------------------------ There is no such thing as good or evil. So CCP did a thoughtless move by removing the export for fleet history tab.
I can't say im utterly thrilled by it since i gain isk through that. By removing it you making a pain in the arse job for Fleet ops commanders to distribute correct isk to each our members in ops runs.
If ye decide to not fix that "accident", i bet alooot of wh and nullsec players would not like that. And as a customer like me.. its very unwise to ignore the customerbase, so i suggest strongly that you straighten up and fix that blasted problem. ipsa scientia potestas est

you should petition every operation and asking for having a dump so you can use that than for importing into your spreadsheets untill they bring the funtionality back.

If its the import/export you dont like. Why do we have api keys ?
Please put the lootlog back.
Later CCP can make a api key system for the lootlog .

Please bring it back asap, why remove a feature that many corps use, only to make their life alot harder?

A little something to consider while you debate if you should put this back in or not.
Please get it back in.

CCP Why do you spend time on removing the working features of the loot-history and not actually fix the bugs in it allready? I sent ina bug report about the loot counting up incorrectly and your employees havent even acknowledged my report?

This is the Real "Butterfly effect" You out pveing alone or not at all cause some airhead remove this. This will affect economy of game. WH corps might do a lockdown of t3 production untill they fix this. This change might actually result in corps that will go under in result of this. I know for a fact that several thousand eve players USE THIS EVERYDAY and might play some other game without it!
I was pretty ****ed when you made game req. higher without any notice so i couldnt play eve for a month even if i pay for it. This change is WORSE. If you did this on purpose i cant really express myself here without getting the red flag!

lmao, it sure is hard to export cvs in python... oh wait, that massive 6 line def is gonna break the bank!
Why would we want additional functionality which is both out of the way and generally handy. But hey if this is about fixing UI stuff, you might want to give us an option to disable all animations(i.e blinking overview icons, animated reticle around target etc) since at least we'd gain some decent performance and not be missing much.

You never tried to cheat the loot log? Try it, it's wonderful. Just drop a can and deposit-loot it multiple times with the same ore chunk. The current "loot log" is in no way authoritative for any purpose but eyecandy. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

I know roughly what ships can pull and when I get new miners I watch them for a while. After I decide they seem to be honest they fall into the rest of the group which I randomly check one or two people every op. If I catch someone cheating I watch them closer (mistakes happen) but if I find consistency in it they will be done in my ops. I've only had to fire one miner since the roll out of loot logging.
This is a very useful tool and just because it can be circumnavigated and used as a scam doesn't mean it doesn't have a relevant place in New Eden.
Again, please bring it back.

It has a place, if it could be wholly tracked down to container ID's, as in, a squential LOGGING, not just an incremental COUNTER as it stands now. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

Sure it could be "better" than it was. What feature in Eve can we discuss that someone wouldn't have a way to improve it or an idea of what would make it better even if they don't have a solution. Regardless of that point the feature as it "WAS" worked fine. It could easily be exported and the data copy and pasted into Excel where it could be converted to a table and manipulated endlessly. That is far faster and easier than just getting an actual time stamp log which we then have to develop parsing tools for before we can use the data.
I would love to see both options. The export like we had, and an auto-log system which automatically logs the loot to a file all the time like our chat channels do. It could do it for every character in or out of a fleet. That would be even more valuable. Whatever, at some level they need to return it to the game.

We have never realy used it as a running track on an active op, we where using the 'feature' that corp hangar arrays trigger loot log events as well as jetcans. We then did our op\thing whatever, and all loot gets dropped into a hangar array section and one of the leadership grabs a hauler forms his own little fleet. Grabs the loot and exports it to our inhouse web application that stuffs it all into a db table and works out values and shares etc.
I'm honestly in a place where I don't want to tell ccp how we make things work since they will wind up 'fixing' it. ------------------------------------------------ There is no such thing as good or evil. i realy hope the dev's intend to get this function back as soon as possible! Why make something that work well and gave less time on the calculator and more time shooting for then to take it away. great work there i must say.. as a costumer of multiple accounts i strongly urge the dev's to fix this asap.

Reconsider this functionality. you are making life so much harder for the ones loving your game. we are hoping for a solution that makes life easier for the mundane tasks of distributing incomes.

Whilst it may not excite you Soundwave, it is a incredibly useful tool for the mainers/manufactorers of eve that the market system relies on (being used extensively in every mining op i have been in)
It allows for payrolls to be apportioned accurately, and saves a lot of people headaches.
Its often the simple things that seem to have no value to many that are vital so more than are realised.
edit to correct dyslexic spelling mistakes SO pretty please with cherries, ice-cream, and Plex's on top bring back the fleet log export function

Bump, And in my opinion the new fleet hist app sucks donkey balls as well. Before it was actualy possibe to edit your broadcast filters besides having to right click and hide. If I for instance was to switch from a logistics role to a dps role I will have to reset all filters and start all over again.
PS: I for some reason mistook SW for Stillman. So its realy just chalk one more up for SounWave I guess.

I'm so ****ed right now I can't even see straight. My entire payout system for my alliance was built off of loot log exports, and now, if I want to pay people for any given op, I have to go through the damn loot logs manually and throw the numbers into excel! Why remove features in EVE that are not costing server-side resources? Bring it back, please!

Another vote for bringing it back, my corp was using it for reporting WH loot and mining , and then dividing payouts.

Follow up to my petition.
Originally by: GM Ochlavita I have to apologize here as I had conflicting information. Apparently the inability to export the loot log is not turned off by design, but it is indeed an error. Unfortunately there is no known workaround for it at the moment. So for the time being you unfortunately have to play the game without it, because there is no alternative function to retrieve this information.

No offense to Zen Jardo at all, but I would like to see a post response from someone on the Dev team, or a GM perhaps on the subject. I think it would be only fair that they deliver us a response as well, if this is true.

This issue should be CCP to priority to fix as it effects thousands of players as a major issue. These tools that we need to divide loot and calculate earnings should be implemented in the game. That you remove a export that was used to correct EVEs missing tools ingame, that should have been there in the first place is a extraordinary stupid thing to do!
Please get all the brains of CCP together to fix this at once! In a long term you should also focus on putting this in a ingame tool but for gods sake ask us how we want it and use it in detail before throwing more time and money away on making bad changes like this one that have in effect ruined the game in PVE group playability!
