Edited by: Hav0cide on 23/05/2011 22:17:29 Edited by: Hav0cide on 23/05/2011 22:15:57 Overall a nicely done complex, which is good to see in the DED list and working at last! Just a few suggestions.
The Structure at the end tanks like the Serpentis 10/10, which is fine though even if you go outside of 60km it still reps itself. So whilst this is good as it requires teamwork, even then solo player couldn't kill it without some nasty DPS. Suggest adding ability to go outside 60km to stop it repping so the solo player can do it.
Frigates in the last room of the 8/10 web and scram, where as in the 10/10 they do not. I would have thought this should be switched. So the 10/10 frigs web and scram. Even so I liked the challenge. :P
More ships in the first few rooms please. Its a little too easy.
As for the loot. I picked up something not even on contracts in Jita so kinda rare. :P
Will add more if I come up with anything.

For a point of reference, if you've done other 8/10's, how would you say the Serp one compares, in terms of both reward, difficulty and time required?

I have only so far done 2 of these Prison camps, so its hard to say on the loot return as currently when I last checked no loot stood at Jita for sale for the Core B-type item I picked up. However it is a fairly decent module.
Comparing it to the Guristas 8/10, which is the only other 8/10 I have done I would say it was harder due to the Nature of the final structure but in terms of rats, easier as there is less of them. Whilst the Guristas has 3 rooms instead of the 4 they probably take around the same time to complete. All depending on whether you have help on the final structure for the Serpentis plex.
After I have done these a few more times it I will be able to gauge whether they are worth my time to do them.

Get to around 74km from the facility and the armor and hull will stop repairing. Once at that range, I took down almost half structure in about 7 minutes in a Tengu (solo). Range is everything. And yeah, it does look a bit like the 10/10.
About the frigs in the last room: I didn't notice any scramming, nor my buddy, just webs.
The only real challenge I found was the last room. In an active tank Tengu the web of the facility is not good :P Get a buddy in first to grab the facility aggro, get yourself to 70km asap (no webs from about 45 km or something) and let buddy warp out and back in for the hull. Teamwork for the win! :)

Edited by: Anne Alingus on 25/05/2011 04:49:34 I am currently as I type this, hammering away at the final station. This is the fourth one of these that I've done. I don't know what you did to get it to stop repping, but it certainly isn't distance, as I sit here at 101 km and it keeps insta repping.
DPS Gila and Tengu dual boxing it takes me about 40 minutes to take down the final station. So this plex does take significantly longer than the Guristas 8/10. I do like the addition of the Shadow Serpentis battleship in the third room, for that little extra bit of lootz.
I think in future I will actually reship to pure DPS Raven Navy Issue and Vindicator just for the station.

The seprentis, blood raiders and sansha 8/10 have the same building in the last room. The plexes are all the same, just different rats.

It took a while, but I think I have this figured out. The facility repairs when attacking its first target. When ever it is forced to attack a second target, it stops repairing.
If you launch drones, and it attacks a drone as its first target, it will repair, but if you pull the drones in and it starts attacking something else, it will not repair. Now, if it is forced to switch targets again, it will start repairing again. So it seems the pattern is 1(repair), 2(not repairing), 1, 2, 1, 2, etc.

Last room is scary with groups of ships surrounding you upon warp in. Unlike most serpentis DEDs, there are at least six npc frigs that will web and point you. Thankfully, there aren't many battleships in the final room, in particular there seemed to be hardly any of the long-range variants like admirals and grand admirals, so the dps is quite manageable even in a sig-tanked ship, despite being webbed to under 20m/s

How do you force it to attack a second target? With the 10/10 you can get it to switch targets by leaving sentry drones and moving out past 60km, but this structure and the one from the shadow serp fleet staging point do no seem to display that behavior. Any reasonable way for the solo player to stop its armor rep?

I've done this now about 8 times since it was released. Since the drone trick is out of the bag anyways, I guess I can share:
Not sure if you can do it with only one account, but the way I do, and it always works is thus: tank gets aggro of station. Second ship, preferably a dps ship with drones can attack at will. Deploy drones. Warp tank out. Station will aggress either the drones or dps ship, it doesn't matter which. It will stop repping. Warp your tank back into the plex and melt the station. If it aggros a drone and you recall the drones, it for some reason will start repping again. So either use light drones or have your dps ship mount a shield repper for the drones. The torp does very little damage but will eventually kill the drone.

Ive found that the best loot drops from wi. Tengus that die to npc's in the last room tbh.

thanks for the clarification. I've been able to use this strategy on the 10/10 since it will switch targets, but so far have failed to get this station (or the fleet staging point one) to switch targets w/o a warpout. seems like an alt account + warpouts is the way to go.

That seems like a fair bit of work just to stop it repping. I found just taking 3 ships into the last area (having alts is always great :P ) and simply attack it from optimal range, with drones etc as well. It dies pretty fast this way. xD
