Was trying to start a 1v1 with someone in high sec just then and was unable to give or get kill rights. Tried stealing from each others cans and after that shot some rats to steal from each others wrecks. Still nothing...
Wasnt in fleet or anything so i cant understand why nobody got kill rights. Any insights from anyone? I thought i understood the aggression mechanics pretty well :(

Ok um wow massive problem. Redocked and tried dropping a can again. I got kill rights to her this time and started firing. She fired back and was concorded. Petition id say?

She says i was definately red before she started firing on me.

I've had a lot of trouble with long-ish delays before can flippers start flashing red. It's even worse for corp members off-grid - if you warp them in to gank the flipper, it can take up to a minute before he starts to go flashy and the CONCORD warning message stops popping up when you press F1.
Never been concordokken AFTER the red flashy time though - are you sure she didn't shoot the can or something else by mistake?

No the can popped when she took the item out of it. Apparently there was even a delay where i was invulnerable to locking before i went red. I got her to send a petition for it anyway because it doesn't seem right. Although those logs being the way they are and all

I wonder, why can't they just have a duel option in the right click menus like every other game? Instead of having to steal from each other's cans.

Yeah, I have often wondered this myself. Even though I haven't ever "willingly" engaged in pvp. Im a lowly miner hehe.
