Edited by: Miilla on 26/05/2011 14:39:23 I have reported with full days of logs showing clearly macro exploiters
They sit from 1300 eve time to 2000 eve time and spam every 4 minutes on the dot.
Full days log of it! And GM's do NOTHING.
I don't get it, they published rules stating Macro punishments and ban times. Yet their actions say macroing is allowed.
Which is it? Macros are against the rules and get banned or are they not?
I also had to Escelate the petitions to report the fail GM under Games Masters and ISD.

Well CCP just posted this http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1509907 to state the rules clearly and in front of us.
Yet what do they want us to do?
So far, that rule mean nothing, so why bother posting that rule sticky?

First off: They recently banned 3000 (? exact number, whatever) bots.
Secondly: Considering that there's currently declared war on bots, CCP must be getting considerable amount of bot reports. All of these have to be looked at. I don't work at CCP, but I don't believe they just hit the "BAN!!!!11!!1!!" button as soon as they get a macro report.
Thirdly: Incarna is just around the corner. A lot of resources is going into getting it done properly. (that doesn't mean fighting bots isn't important, though)

The irony of you of all people whining about people spamming rubbish is so funny it actually hurts, especially considering the way you spam the Rens local channel with your pointless drivel. Were the rules to be followed to the letter, with immediate effect, you would also doubtless find yourself perma-banned from these forums Miilla.
Take a chill pill, calm down and let CCP get on with the job of banning the important bots first, like the ones involved in RMT. In the meantime, the block button is your friend.

If you are that concerned about bots, then come join us in our war against bots. Do more than just petition them. Help us scout for mining/mission bots and track their progress over the weeks for us to get an understanding of their patterns. Once you can confirm a bot, report it to Ninjaspud or me so that we can review the data and see if we could muster a gank fleet. But be accurate in your assessments, though. We are trying to be as surgically accurate with our strikes as possible. We don't want to gank innocent miners/missioners by accident.
Join us on the Bot Grief channel where we coordinate strikes and share intel.

Try submitting the petition under a different (but still reasonable) category. But in the meantime, don't be surprised if it takes a long time since the war on bots has created an influx of petitions that has swamped the GMs. You could also try using the website www.reportbots.com. They could help you with directing the petitions better to the GMs. But just so you know, their system is as strict as our system in the sense that they want to be as accurate as possible in their reporting. They don't want junk petitions of "possible" botters. They want excellent petitions of "confirmed" botters.

I have repeatidly petitioned day after day week after week under Exploits because it is an exploit using macros.
I have attached 8 hours of logs showing the 4 minute timing on the dot day after day. Obvious bot is obvious, they would also have activity logs and not just the chat logs I post so they can see if he is active at the client or its just the same old bot which most likely it is as you dont want to interact with the client while the bot is running over the UI, unless he is automating headless which I doubt.
It is confirmed by other people too, plus it they can confirm it themselves.
The action taken depends on the GM, even tho they publish a company policy on exploiters macroers to us (sticky in this forum) that every GM should follow.

Jesus Christmas isn't at the keyboard, and that's a huge difference. Miilla may be annoying but at least he/she is human, and doesn't spam every 4 minutes 23/7.
Actually made a petition yesterday about him, which is the first time i've ever reported someone, or some, thing, in this case. Didn't bother me at first, but i've put up with it for weeks now and it's just getting ridiculous.
His name is also against the naming policy, so he's just rubbing it in everyones faces that CCP does nothing to enforce their own rules.

It seems to me that spam bots are much harder to confirm (because even if they do spam on the dot, they may just be people with timers who have nothing better to do than mimic a bot... jeez I sound like a nut when saying that).
A few spam bots have been banned (maybe more than a few, I can only speak of what I know) but from what I'm aware it was for other macros like market and industry stuff.
And other bots are popping left right and center (and I don't just mean their ships and pods).
CCP is working on it. But they are highly outnumbered.

I do, but the macro's are in other systems too with different names.
Point being, they are macros, don't care that they spam or Ive blocked them.
You get a wave of 10 people trying to talk to him in local every 4 minutes plus even if you have blocked them, others havnt.
CCP put up a sticky stating the macro rules, and punishments, yet they did nothing.
Are you saying it is ok to macro?

MACROs are automation exploits, GMs can move petitions about catagories or are they that useless too?

It doesn't matter. If you haven't bothered to notice when creating the petition, a little note briefly appears as you scroll over the categories. One of them mentions that if a ban petition is submitted in the exploit category, they will get deleted by the GMs because the category doesn't match the petition (yeah, they're that anal about it). So get your **** straight and submit the petition correctly.

what a double edged sword. Obviously a macro is a macro, however a macro making money mining or killing npc's much worse. If they don't ban obvious macro users that aren't RMT'ing it looks like they aren't banning the RMT'ers either.
And then theres the botters who don't RMT but use "real" macros (I.E. beyond chat spam). Are they "middle" priority? . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

why is it hard just to ignore local?
CCP shouldnt even bother with this kind of bots, the are frankly the only kind the general eve populous cant deal with and be 100% effective with, without any effort or time spent doing it. ignore them
local chat in a trade hub is pointless, just close the window do what you need to do, and leave, problem solved.
