Being an IT Admin myself, I can tell you delivering a poor performance like this would cost my company thousands of $ every minute and I would be fired after three days latest.
Nowadays offline times in computer systems are seen as primeval and completely unnecessary, even one single minute every day.
And as an IT admin, you probably allready know you do not have a signed SLA with CCP where both parties agreed to a minimum uptime of 99.5% on a yearly base.
So sit it out and have fun doing your long overdue chores in the RL :)

have you chkdsk'ed your hard drives ? and why the heck is your second drive on A: ? thats gonna cause problems coz that letter is still kinda reserved for diskette drives
and free up some more space . you extract an .exe , get a .7z and thats going to extract too . so expect to use about 3 to 5 times the space of the 550 megabyte download + additional space for patching...

If the QA department there is anything like the one where I work, the process likely goes like this:
1. Did it compile without error? If yes, goto step 2.
2. Did the first screen come up? If yes, goto step 3.
3. Ship patch!
