Hey ppl, I've used slicers several times in the past - wonderful ships imo. But I still cant make up my mind which set-up to go for. The slightly slower but better armoured interceptor style or a faster, less tanky AF. It can get about 23km with med. pulses and scorch so i'm tempted to try and stay at that range using speed mods, but it would have a disadvantage against any faster frigates or warping ontop of someone with a disruptor. Fitting an AB and a couple of resist plates along with an armour rep and a HS or 2 gives it a bit more survivability, with it's higher base speed (compared to the retribution for example) adding a little more to the tank. The downside is if you're losing its alot more difficult to get out of point range to disengage.
So guys and girls, my question is: How do you fit yours? Do you prefer to use it one way or another? Purpose for me is mainly killing FW frigs and crusiers in lowsec.

Mwd kiting frig. Bring drop and make sure that if you got scrammed, opponent is already in hull.
Ab on this ship is really bad idea - slow /comparing its base speed to retribution made me lol though, ty/ + bad tracking + only 2 mids... wont end well.

All of the faction frigs are a mesh between the combat interceptor and one of the racial AFs. Basically being a faster AF dps platform that is faster.
Go with the mwd kiting variant, and never ever engage anything with medium ACs. Additionally i'd avoid jaguars and wolfs as they have insane EM resists. For example the wolf with only a 400 plate and DCII gets 30kehp vs em.
Slicer doesn't have the tracking to really do the close range brawler effectively.

You are doing it wrong
Nano-fit is decent enough but severely limited against anything as fast/faster and tends to do poorly against medium autos which as you probably know are everywhere these days.
I have had good results using a brawler: 2xMPII, Neut/Nos MWD, Scram SARII, DCUII, HSII, 2xANPII 2-3x Metastasis Rig (I normally use 2xtracking, 1xdamage).
Downgrade to DLPII for even more tracking and possible plate for high-alpha targets like Arty-Trash. Fast enough to evade most things that would do it harm, and sturdy/violent enough to burn what's left.
Takes out all other faction frigs except for DD's .. dual-prop Dramiel's are only an issue if piloted by a true frigate expert but since they tend to use DD's they are very rare.
