My drones haven't shot at each other or my fleet mates without me telling them to in at least a few years, CCP is making progress. Either that or the drones are evolving naturally. |

Sorry ever since we brought down Skynet we still keep finding small patches of rogue drones with intelligence that became self aware. So in order to prevent this uprising from happening again we keep drones "dumb" to prevent any real threats from them. I am sure if you talk to one of the Devs they will confirm. It's not broken their working as intended.

probably more like we don't want more rogue drones
one of the backstories gives it away that rogue drones are the result of a slight screwup in advanced drone research(made them a little to smart, whoops)
