Well you would've had an xbox copy purchase and subscription from me, but you definitely won't on the PS3. I don't trust sony and I won't be buying a PS3, especially not now that they've screwed over their customers so bad.
Good job CCP on climbing on board of a sinking ship.

Why? Sony has demonstrated itself to be dangerously inept towards it's customer's information. That alone is enough to boycott the PS3. Add to that intentional price gouging, attempts to force proprietary items for the sake of 'competetion' and generally being utter ****s, a large segment of the population is justifiably ticked off at them right now.
Plus, I'd rather see this on the PC than any console.

I primarily use an Xbox 360 for all my shooter type games, but I understand why it isn't on the Xbox. Microsoft is a bunch of *******s when it comes to cross platforming.
However, I am boggled that it won't be on the PC. I would've bought it on release day. I'm not touching a PS3 with a 10 foot pole though.

Seriously...we play EVE on a PC. Good bet we would want to play this on a PC. I won't ever own a PS3 (or a Xbox for that matter)...so they lost one purchase here.

Not that I think they will, but it would be a good idea for CCP to post a dev blog or something similar to explain this poor decision. Your players are smart, but if you give us no information to go on we'll be ****ed on what we see as a crappy decision on your part.

I have been rooting for and anticipated Dust since I first heard about it, I am now beginning to have some doubts if this really will work out well. Not in a "omg eve is dieing" sorta way, but rather a healthy skepticism. Partially due to the crowd's reaction on that conference (Or lack thereof, rather) and that there are a lot of factors which needs to go well together for this game to work.
One thing I don't understand is how this will work in the relatively massive EVE universe. If you play for example Modern Warfare 2 on PC still, you see that even that number of playlists divide the players too much, so that most of them are pretty empty, simply because there aren't enough players. Same goes for Black Ops to an extent. What I'm getting at is that CoD is by many regarded as the FPS and Dust is just this back-alley kid.
While PS3 offers a potentially larger crowd, EVE is just that much bigger than the playlists of CoD, so where will one go to find combat? Unless I've completely misunderstood this, the combatants will be spread out not only through the systems of New Eden, but over all the planets. Keeping this in mind, I'm imagining Captain's Quarters with guns and armor - a completely empty space you walk around alone.
Another thing is the total number of players. What kind of userbase has CCP imagined with dust? I mean, this was never going to be another CoD (with regards to number of active players), but now limiting it to one platform... It doesn't add up well for me. If it was XBOX, PS3 and PC (I know PC never was on the table, tho), then maybe the potential number of players would start to stand up against EVE's size. I just don't see Dust gaining the number of active players to sustain itself.
It looks ****ing awesome for me, but another issue here is that Dust isn't necessarily something that'll appeal to the mainstream FPS players.
But what the hell do I know, I am probably too tired atm to even make sense.  Too bad I won't be playing it regardless - I hate that controller so god damn much when it comes to FPS'. I can hold my own and then some when playing on the computer, but with XBOX or PS3 controllers I am less than useless. lol

I will NEVER buy a PS3, not now, not eve, there inept at keeping there customers information safe. There servers are unstable and tbh Sony has taken a finiacial loss for the past 4 years, so good job ccp
If it had been on xbox, id have got it on release day

There are bits and pieces everywhere, especially the more reasoned non-whiny threads that doesn't start out with just being overall misinformed (if they've even gotten that far).
Several places in the first page alone of GD, there have been statements regarding the Dust514 server-setup, subscription/Aurum, reasons of why it was PS3 and not cross-platform. Everything is around here somewhere, if people can't even look up existing threads before starting their own threads... oh my, they should practice information gathering.
Incidentally, today is the first time I've found myself actually hating the forums. Even the Incarna threads a week back annoyed me less.

It probably isn't even possible on the 360 tbh. It's such a closed network and Microsoft are strict as hell. I doubt they'd even allow anything like this.
