I assume everyone is trolling and pretending to act as if they don't know what he is asking.
It raises an interesting question.
With the recent blunders in Sony's security of the PSN network and generally how they keep passwords in plain text in notepad files what issues might this bring up for Eve players.
Now I've barely played on PSN or a PS3 for that fact but I do wonder what the log on process would be.
I'm guessing CCP will keep the accounts completely independent from one another to prevent any character thefts in the event Sony fluffs up again.

I don't know why people act like they don't know that after the hacking was done, they fixed / updated security.
You act like nothing was done.

What little was done was a joke. Sony keeps getting broken into, data keeps being leaked. -- [Aussie players: join ANZAC channel] |

I think the phrase "Once bitten, twice shy" comes into play quite well here.

Presumably, it was fixed by the same people who left the door wide open in the first place. These are going to be people who are likely to fix the problem only by closing the holes that they know to have been exploited in the past; this is compared to competent security experts who are going to have a penitent look over their systems, try to think of ways to compromise it, and do a genuine security overhaul.
tl;dr - Incompetent people "fixing" a problem are usually just painting over it and hoping nobody notices.

I think that probably depends on perspective |

There is no security strong enough to guarantee data integrity if the system is connected to the web, basic knowledge. Best one can do is make any stolen material so hard to use as to be virtually worthless (encrypted).
Latest big one, with far bigger consequences than a gaming network, was RSA who are in charge of data security for just about everyone with access to the Earth self-destruct button followed by a hack using data gleaned of a trillion dollar defence contractor.
If you think your e-Peen password is of such high value, then what about your credit card details? All the major American providers have been hacked at one time or another and bled hundreds of millions of financial fact sheets for individuals as well as corporations.
In short: Screw e-Peen.

...because the first thing Sony does when making changes to securty is call you and tell you exactly what they're doing.

CCP and Sony, a match made in heaven. They can swap sob stories over evil website hackers and incompetence over pints of beer.
