Exactly the same problem as the OP describes.
Repair tool isn't fixing the client.

Having the exact same issue. I checked the repair log, and the repair tool not working seems to come from CCP not having defined what the tool is looking for.

I manually patched the client eveonline.com/patches and it's now working fine.

The problem myself and some others have had is that it wont let us manually patch it, because the game thinks that it is fully patched, therefore up to date etc

Thanks. This worked for me after the auto patching had failed. Guess I was lucky judging from the comment above.

It wouldn't let me manually patch it the first time I tried, but the second time it worked. I dont know why.

Someone, please put a bullet in repair.exe. I honestly cannot remember the last time it actually worked. The .7z file is ALWAYS corrupt -no matter how many dozen times it is downloaded. |

Edited by: Ribaldry on 08/06/2011 02:22:43 I'm also having this problem. This is not a hardware or OS config issue... CCP is just missing http://eveonline.com/patches/repair_info.txt on their webserver but apparently that takes an act of congress to get the checksums generated and put in the file.
I should add that I've tried the auto patch and the manual patch multiple times to no avail. I'm now downloading the full 3.9GB install.

This is the contents of repair.exe.log , after running multiple failed repairs:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "repair.py", line 206, in <module> File "updateSelf.pyc", line 94, in UpdateSelf_nt File "updateSelf.pyc", line 21, in ReadUpdateInfo File "repairTool\repairTools.pyc", line 250, in GetRepairInfo File "repairTool\repairTools.pyc", line 157, in SafeUrlOpen urllib2.HTTPError: HTTP Error 404: Not Found: 'http://eveonline.com/patches/repair_info.txt'
My client will not patch manually now, because it reports having the latest patch, which it seemed to do halfway.

Same issue. Manually patching was unsuccessful. Downloading full client...again /emote sighs
I really wish that every time I used the auto-patcher I didn't have to spend an hour cleaning up after it...

I had this problem.
Try running the game from inside the folder its in rather than the shortcut on your desktop/start menu
The last patch gets confused and breaks the shortcut. (did with me anyway)
Make sure that the "Start in" Parameter of your shortcut points to the correct location of your TQ client, the patch had changed mine to my Sisi Client but the target was the TQ Clients exe file.
Doing this fixed the game for me.
and if you are reading this you have reached the signature without noticing. |

I've had this problem, before running fresh installs from steam, game corrupts itself and the repair tool fails. the only way I could fix it is a complete re-install. the repair tool is like rolling the dice it might work but not all the time.

Some of these problems might be fixed by downloading the newer version of the repair.exe tool from:
http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/324/repair.exe
CCP advised me to give this a go and it fixed it for me.
You will need to replace the existing repair.exe tool in you eve directory which is probably located in one of the following places:
C:\Program Files\Eve C:\Program Files(86)\Eve
Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. Then I located the patching file (some .exe under C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\Downloads), realized that this was a self-extracting archive and extracted it with 7-zip instead. That way everything went right through!

Same old same o...
".... if for some reason autopatching fails." Yeah. Right. That's like saying, repair.exe SHOULD work or autopatch SHOULD download a .7z file which isn't corrupt. '*WHEN* autopatching fails' would be more appropriate.
-Downloading the manual patch now... as usual.

Same issue. The patch was corrupt, repair tool didn't work, tried to update repair tool, didn't work, moved to reinstall.
Now every installation I do, manual or from the normal source, is corrupt.
Any answers, CCP?
