Edited by: Hiroshi Nagasaki on 07/06/2011 22:13:21 So... I have been looking into this problem for about 1 week now and currently I'm out of ideas what I can do to solve this problem...
Since the last patch I seems to have critical Eve crashes which freeze my system too (last pictures on the screen is the Eve client with graphic errors) but the system only crash while I play eve (all other games working fine)
System: 2x Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 4GB RAM XP x64 SP2 Quad Core 2,4 GHz
so... this is a list with things I already tried: - Benchmarked the PC to hell... (GPU test/memtest/cpu tests/hdd tests) - tried several other games - tried different eve settings (low/high/sound on-off/1 client/multiple clients/fresh installation) - developed one of the graphic cards - developed all HDDs and installed a complete new empty and reinstalled Windows - measured the Voltage - tried different (old) drivers for Graphic/Mainboard
so... my system is working fine except with Eve Online... I hope anyone here has the same problems and a good solution for me :) thx
edit: the crashes are total random... between 10min and a few hours, the Eve LogServer showed nothing |

Now this comes right from top of my hat and I'm not really even sure is this problem/card related but here goes...
Some fellow had similiar issues in some other thread with some newish card and someone else knew the issue and offered latest beta drivers as solution.
anyways was just random throw - perhaps helps, most likely not.

Checked drivers against the ones available, and they were current. Downloaded the driver and reinstalled it anyways, still getting the same issue.
Thanks for the tip, too bad it didn't work

During downtime tomorrow there will be a client update addressing these crash issues. We encourage you to install it after downtime. There is a news post up about it here.

Updated client, the client itself was never crashing as reported by others. It is crashing my display driver. Crash log from the driver same as before, log shows nothing.
I'm still crashing my display driver at every session change. I have updated the driver, tested it against other games, rebooted my machine, cleared the cache and even fully reinstalled EvE. Seems that when I go through the gate, the screen blinks black. 2/3 (maybe down to 1/3 now) times the driver will self recover, I get a popup in the lower right hand corner of my screen saying that the driver has recovered from a critical error, .xml from the crash is same as I have posted above.
Welcome to day 9 of not being able to undock without having to reboot my computer.

Not quite a system freeze - but very similar - when trying to remotely set of manufacturing jobs I often get the 'calculating quote' box grabbing the focus and as the progress bar moves all the way to the right and never finihses it never lets go of the focus.
This means that you are then unable to click on anything else in eve because you cant get rid of the focus on that progress bar, only option is to log.
The client itself doesnt seem to have frozen completely or disconnected as you can still see other ships jumping, warping, moving etc in the overview. |

This is a nearly old bug
I have petition it long time ago and they told me that there is a work around if you choose again the Blueprint (so in the manufactor job you have to choose the BPO/BPC again!) and after this the job will start normal :) |

EVE has started crashing on me since the latest "patch"
Never had any problems before.
I tried using repair.exe......borked.
So, just did a clean install...all 3.8 Gb or whatever it is.
Client is still crashing. EVE is borked.

This issue has NOT been resolved. I'm still crashing randomly, and varies between just the client crashing, to complete system lock and meltdown.
Note, this only started happening after I incresed my computers memory - and NO, there no problem with the RAM; if have diagnosed and stress tested the hell out of it.
I went from 2 to 6 GB (and changed os from XP to 7 64 bit) - maybe EVE cannot handle more than a certain amount of RAM?

Just want to add that my EVE client started to crash on gatejump while minimized after patch two weeks ago but I must report that:
LAST PATCH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM!
It is now crashing less but it is still crashes sometimes on gatejumps and sometimes even while ship is in space with client minimized.
Luckily enough there is workaround to gatejump crash - it does not happen while you keep map open.
My system is: Gigabyte M/B with 4GB RAM AMD Phenom X2 2.8 GHz Gigabyte 9600 GT with 1GB RAM Windows XP sp2 Nvidia drivers ver 258.96

Edited by: Shadow K on 10/06/2011 23:04:14 Also have random freezes with EVE.
Odd thing is that the entire PC freezes. Black and white screens. Regardless of what I'm doing in the Game.
Had two petitions open for this and issue is still ongoing for more than 8 Months. Now have a Bug open 112711.
Hope this will help.
Windows 7 Enterprise MAPS Edition x64 AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.20Ghz 8GB Kingston RAM DDR2 GA-MA790X-UD4P Mainboard Club 3D ATI Radeon HD5670 2 LG Flatron W2242T Screens at 1680 x 1050 at 32bit.
No Hardware Overclocked!
ATI Drivers without CCC and any other stuff. (in case AI is troubling)
What I have done so far is downgraded my Graphic drivers to drivers that were released two years ago. Still this didn't help. I have tested my Hardware with Prime 95 on stress test Mem and CPU. GPU-Z running and tested with SiSoft Sandra on full details for 2 Days. GPU-Z and Core Temp always running in Background to see if there are any changes to temp. But all in the green. PC never crashes when playing other games on ATI card such as COD Black Ops; Fallout NV; Crysys; Far Cry 2 and so on. EVE/PC never crashes when using nVidia 8600gt
What I have running while playing EVE: Firefox 4.0.1 Teamspeak 3.0.0-rc2 Build: 14642 qt Version 4.7.2 Logserver Core Temp 0.99.8 (installed and running since crashes occurred) GPU-Z 0.5.3 (installed and running since crashes occurred) EVE Online 3 Times Window mode Kaspersky Pure (latest version)
Would be interesting to see if someone else has same hardware and no issues.
Edit: I do remember there was a similar post here on forum and one of the Dev's/GM's asked to open a bug report and post the bug id in the forum. But can't find the thread. |

Same symptoms as Arrenslew here. Same EventLog entry as well.
Win7 Pro x64 8GB RAM Integrated Intel vid card Intel Quad Core 2.53GHz
Basically, every jump through a gate seems to crash the vid driver (which win7 generally recovers after a bunch of flickering and such). Running in Windowed Mode using one of the standard resolutions. My last trip was 9 jumps and the only time the vid driver did not crash was for one jump I set autopilot. Also did not crash when entering a station, but on leaving station it did. Did not seem to matter if the client was minimized or had focus. Client has the most recent patch and vid drivers are current. |

I crash every 2 to 3 minutes. It doesnt matter what I am doing, it crashes and restarts on me, or freezes and I have to quit game and restart. The wrost is when I am fighting rats and I come back in time to get away before I die.
I have a ticket in and going on day 2 for answer.

I'm having the crash issue as well, currently running Win 7 64-bit with Intel HD integrated graphics. I have an i7 640LM processor with 8GB of memory.
Problem seems to be whenever a new session loads, either on undocking or popping out of a gate. I'll be entering space for around 30 seconds and the screen will flicker, then It will either say graphics driver recovered, or the game has crashed. It actually seemed to happen the patch directly before Incarna (with the capacitor graphic change), though I have been out of game for a month or so, so not sure exactly when the problem began.
I'm hoping there's some hint of a solution soon, but as of now the game is nearly unplayable. Much as I enjoy not spinning my ship anymore, not really sure there's much else that can be done in-game.

That's pretty much what I am getting. Now, with Incarna and the client patches since, I get the video driver crash whenever I launch the game client as well. |
