Some of the things I see here is making me laugh. You guys and ladies keep thinking that console FPS players for Dust is going to be the Wii COD crowd LMAO. I came from a game called MAG which is the ANTI COD it's a cult following that loves the Concept around MAG and Dust514. You are going to get some hardcore FPS players like you have never seen before. COD players will not like Dust at all cuz of how complex Dust will be for them. This is what the PS3 MAG community loves about DUST IT'S GOING TO BE COMPLEX. The clan I'm in is full of Adults and we run about 25-30 people a night no kids in the clan. There are tons of clans like that coming over to Dust514 from MAG. EVE online community and CCP is about to see what a hardcore base from MAG is all about

They do NOT want to put a FPS out for PC's as they tend to be highly exploitable. They do want to be known as the first game company to create a cross platform, interactable gaming universe in this way. They do NOT want to be known as a PC game development only house. If consoles could compare, graphically and controllability-wise, to my PC then I'd be all for it. Sadly, they just can't. Not with today's consoles, at least. Perhaps in the future we'll see better controls for FPS introduced. While mouse and keyboard are simply superior, it wouldn't have to be just that. I could see an advanced control system that resembles a mouse and keyboard in which the keyboard portion is compacted and designed specifically for FPS control. (These exist for PCs already, consoles just haven't adapted yet) As for PC gamers expanding out of just PC games, that happens all the time. Just generally not with FPS games because the controls are horrible for them. However, there are many games that a console controller works great with.
