Apparently you guys have NO clue what this means.
Why chuck the "four best" teams in at the group stages? We'll be getting a replay of last years FINAL as a group stage match! Here's something that's just finished in, you know, the real world, where they've been doing this for years...

Notice who got to the semi-finals? The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th seeded players. You know why? Because they weren't forced to play each other at the start due to their ranking!
As an aside I find it hilarious that you have placed Co2 and Wild Boars in the same group given that they are basically working together as the same entity. Not only this but Co2 vs Wild Boars is set to be the final match of the group stages meaning that they will be able to manufacture a 99 - 125 point gain for themselves with 125 points going to whoever needs it most to go through. I seriously doubt either RAZOR or Outbreak. will make it out of this group due to this rather massive oversight.

Dont see what the problem is.
We get to see them fight twice and they decide who wants to be the in the runner up group and who wants to be in the winner group

If PL and Hydra really end up being top teams this year (not guaranteed by any means) then it's very possible for both of us to leave the group and in that case we'd be put in different halves of the bracket and not be able to meet again until the finals. We'll be guaranteed at least one rematch of last year's final, and if everything goes right for both PL and Hydra it would be possible for us to face each other again in the finals this year. That sounds fine to me.
I mean if I had a chance to choose an easier group for PL I would, but from a TV perspective the random pairings seems to have worked ok this year.

So the plan is us and Co2 whitewash razor and outbreak then we attack the GM's or something? I didnt see anything in the rules about attacking CCP ;D

first of all @op, let's face it, but it's actually a very rare occurrence that the fist four seeded players reach the semi-finals at a tennis grand slam tournament (with the probability not being much higher at regular ATP or WTA tournaments). while i understand your point, the example chosen could have been better (just my opinion).
while it could have been fun to have a more evenly distributed group phase, the thought of three teams as good and/or interesting as PL, HYDRA and U'K competing in the group phase to reach the top sixteen is very intriguing indeed. you might compare it to real-life sports tournaments like the FIFA world cup - almost every time there is a group referred to as the "death group", even though FIFA tries its best to split up the top teams evenly. i don't see why it shouldn't be the same with EVE - just watch and let things resolve themselves instead of complaining beforehand, could become very interesting indeed.
