The same way the construction fleet for the customs offices did. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Actually no, because that is just the explanation CCP offered to justify customs offices in wormhole systems. It's just a story.

Bad enough I cant play the game because I don't play console games, but if they can mess with my pc game too I'll quit eve and never touch anything ccp makes again. Period. And I can say for sure I will not be the only one.

We got no clue so far how that war barge of them is piloted nor how they get around New Eden at all. Realistically CCP won't make them attackable (they got a different interface than Eve and Dust should be able to be played without us), so turned around they won't show up in space.. or if they do, they'll be immune I guess. If CCP can come up with some lore/smoke for that one, they can come up with a story for their travels around w-space. Will be fun to see with what Abraxas and his team came up with for that.

Hey, you can mess with their console game too! Or are you frightened of some small tiny soldiers on planets?

Originally by: Jagga Spikes if dusties can produce on planets, how will they transport products to the market? in warbarges? contracts from customs? their own ships?
If the DUST players could fly their own spaceships it would be EVE not DUST they are playing.

I suspect duskies will make a planet hostle to orbital ships. The planet guns will just be automated to shoot ships in orbit. Ships in orbit could then attack planetary locations similar to how we attack pos's now. That and a form of contracts will be the extent of the two games interaction.

Actually it's more like they can shoot us, we have to hire a second lot to take on the first lot.
Which makes me wonder if the "Dusties" will start ransoming EVE players PI structures, which they'll get away with because we can't fight back directly.. unless we really can nuke them from orbit.

Edited by: Mutnin on 08/06/2011 18:43:35 They should let Duties attack POS's now that would be funny. Let the EVE side take down the shields and put it in re-enforcement mode, then the Dust Bunnies come in & do the second attack. Same should go for SOV structures.
This would better pull both games together and would require both groups to work closer with one another. Would just have to work out a way to make it beneficial to the Dust side so they actually wanted to attack for the EVE groups.

Being able to board and take control of a POS would be nice. Could be a nice short term cash boost for Dusties if they can board all the offline POSes you see around and sell them to the nearest capsuleer.

If what the OP posts is true or comes to fruition, this will be really cool.
The interaction between an MMO and the console is uncharted territory, especially in a sandbox (or a system that strives to be one).
Hopefully there will be the ability to "nuke from orbit" as well as an ability to shoot things out of orbit.

It's actually considerably more impacting than that. CCP is letting loose a bunch of tiny pirates on a pay-to-win scheme that can ruin our sovereignty.

Edited by: Narisa Bithon on 08/06/2011 22:12:09 1 fatal flaw with the idea of dusties taking planetary installations...
SONY have rubbish security................ Dust514 player / HACKER decides he wants some fun so he DDOS attacks the sony network in country A, B, & C. But as hacker /dust player lives in country D he/she can go pop installations uncontested.

A major flaw in the whole operation is eve players who do not have PS3.
What is a lowly 3 person industrial PI corp supposed to do when most of their income stream is just out there for the taking uncontested? Like they can fight back... how?

Just like they do in EVE right now.
Either give up, or fork over some ISK to hire some mercs.

I don't play console games anymore out of choice and have no intention to do so either.
Mixing console games with PC games is what concerns me slightly, although I would not at this time say it'll make me quit, it will however make me take notice of how it'll actually effect Eve before I consider quiting Eve.

One word for this... Awesome!
I'm looking forward to the many ways we're going to both benefit and be griefed by this link! I'll be both ****ed and excited when someone attacks my PI set ups.

Worse.
Remember, some items needed for big things in the game - ships, poses, etc - are only built with items now created from PI.
What do you think this will do to the market on BOTH ends?

Steering it away from saturation? Creating more destruction, ie. throughput (bigger market, more peeps involved)? With PI more expensive those Dusters and the PI stuff itself will finally be worth fighting over? How is that worse?
Those tiny little troublemakers will fit right into Eve and cause some long needed demand/destruction/tears.
Once this is up and running I wonder what happens if them tiny little troublemakers are allowed to screw with low/high-sec planets

Would you please provide a locked sticky with links to them if they get put up? I like digging and searching, but ya know.. we're kinda your customers and you could make it a bit easier for us.. no?
Besides that keep it coming.. so far this had nice tears + screaming and a very cool outlook for things to come
