I know there are exploration sites that have archeology and salvage both rolled into one site but its a pathetic amount compared to the time it takes of finding them then scanning them down. I am also disappointed that wrecks cannot be scanned down by combat probes and would like to see this change(even though that would cause a bunch of lag)
So what I'm suggesting is that every wreck in a system that despawns without it being salvaged/destoyed adds to a system counter, after the counter reaches a specified amount a ship graveyard will appear that is an anomaly, these would have nothing but wrecks and i would like to see them having alot of wrecks(80+ wrecks spread over 150 km) so it would be worth it to go to them instead of trying to scan down every player in their mission. I would also like to see these sites have random generated wrecks with a bunch of generic dust clouds in the background. Another option could be the average value of said wrecks applies to a different counter so that systems with lots of pvp could also have very valuable ship graveyards.
Benefits that i could see of said idea:
- Increase in salvaging as a starter profession
- Less ninja salvagers in people's missions
- Can eventually be tied into other mini professions
- Can be added to the current system of things without a major revamp of the code(at least as far as my knowledge about eve's code)
Negatives that i could see of said idea:
- Increase in server load of all systems(although i cant realy see it taking more server load then a raven with fof missles per system)
- Would end up crashing the salvage market and making various rigs cheaper
- Would make players with high scan probe skills a little obsolete due to the ease of finding salvage
- Could end up filling up systems with more graveyards then players could harvest

I like it at least. Perhaps a percentage of the value would be subtracted do to the fact that someone moved all of these wrecks.
What I would like to see is the ability to move the whole wreck to your cargo hold and taking it to station to make a partial BPC. Get enough Partials of the same type of ship and you can then make one complete BPC. Dominating EVE one belt at a time. |

the balance of it is still up in the air, but the bpc thing is a separate suggestion and shouldn't really be trying to tack it onto other ideas. FROG! |

Hmmm... Just fyi, the primary reason that ninja's are coming into your missions isn't for the salvage.

Certainly interesting, it would at least make the Noctis more useful.

guess you got it backwards, me and my brother are right now doing ninja salvage since my brother doesn't have a good way of making isk(i mostly do industry and work on stuff remotely while my brother clears people's missions of wrecks), so far on average we are making about 4-5 mil an hour and we were talking back and forth about the idea of of something like this being good for a beginner pilot and being able to do mass salvaging without the help of an older player would be nice. So basically what you want is a way for your brother to make an inordinately large amount of isk with a small amount of effort and little to no skill. And just to clarify if ninjaing wasn't a form of pvp they would be called janitors or something else equally innocuous.

stop and consider for a second, 4-5 mil an hour isn't a large amount of isk, ninjaing is taking someone else's stuff without thier consent(we've had people try warping in thier pvp ships only to find the salvaging ship isn't flagged because he is only salvaging, not looting), the fact your trying to label it as a janitor makes you forget how many science fiction stories has salvagers who live off of collecting remains of ships, the fact wrecks disapear and cannot be scanned down is the reason why i'm suggesting this. Honestly I think this is a fairly good idea. But people would just stop mining and level up scrap metal processing.

it would be most interesting if they simply made it so that completed missions was turned into wreck anomalies for the duration of the wrecks (aprox 2 hours). Thus allowing anyone to go there and salvage it, this would also mean that by completing the mission you also abandon the wrecks in the deadspace pocket. ---

Moving the scripted player wrecks to those graveyards it's a good idea.
But trashed wrecks by the server is free "Quafe" for hamsters, on the other side it would have another impact: the market
So yes to those, but no to put them there with no risk and all free isk given.
Salvaging is already the single profession with no risk, yeah even mining is more risky, so you guys don't want CCP to throw you some millions in your wallet every hour with nothing in exchange?
This is the point you should develop a little further before CCP takes this idea seriously, imho.

I don't understand why you listed this as a benefit. Ninja salvaging is one of the best things about this game |
