Trying to launch the client results in the splash screen to appear for a fraction of a second, followed by a immediate client shutdown.

We know. It's caused by the contents of the \bin folder ending up in the root of the EVE client. How it happened we don't know, since there were no code changes that would've suddenly triggered something like this, but I checked in a fix that should solve it, yesterday.
There should be a new build out soon enough so if it still persists let me know.

It responds to the keyboard, but I can't enter a password. With version 6437 I can type in the user name field, but when I try to enter a password it doesn't respond and I can only have a blank password, which doesn't work. I deleted all the preferences from the Preferences and Application Support folders and restarted. Now I get the EULA screen but the EULA never appears so I can't hit accept.

Edited by: Tippia on 12/06/2011 01:01:31 ^^ Same as above. I can only log in by typing my pw into the user name field and copy/pasting it from there.
Once in-game, rightclicking doesn't work for most things ù so far, I have only found it to work on empty space and in the station services list (for guests, agents and corps). For instance, I can't change my ships in station (no rclick menu to activate the ship I want). I can't really use the overview (no rclick menu to add/remove stuff, no options menu to change overview settings, no menu to perform actions ù warp to, orbit, and all that ù with overview items). As rclick-menu heavy as EVE is, this makes the game only slightly less unplayable than when it crashed on the splash screen.
Also, the frame rate while in space (and possibly in stations as well, but it's not as noticeable there) has gone to hell. Last workable build, it both were smooth ù now CQ is occasionally choppy and space will happily trundle along at 1/10th the old frame rate for long periods. It behaves as if it was trying to load something in the backgroud, like in the olden days when various windows preformed a bunch of locking calls (rendering portraits, refreshing the market and all that), but without any of those things actually going on.
àbut at least the 3D buttons are now working in the CQ, and the random shadows and light shows are gone. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

I wrote up a bug report on the password issue. Tried your tip Tippia but copy and paste doesn't work for me either. I tried copying from both the username field and from out of game but can't seem to paste anything in the password field. |

I have no idea what different kinds of chicken-waggling made it work, but I could get in that way. However, even when I pasted the PW in, nothing actually appeared in the field ù it just let me in anywayà
So it's possible, but good luck with the trial and error. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Copying from the username and pasting into the password field works if you use ctrl-c to copy and ctrl-v to paste, not the normal Mac command-c/v. The right click copy/paste does not work for me either.

1. Acquired chicken. 2. Waved appropriately. 3. Used "Windows" style copy and paste three times. 4. Logged in and finally saw myself in the mirror.
At least I was able to contribute a few bug reports. The graphics for the Mac version finally look good and I was able to use the new style UI while in the quarters. I feel a little better about the 21st. |

I have the same problem. I have tried both the Mac and Windows style copy and paste but neither works. :(

I found that I would paste the pw in (control v), hit connect, get an error message, then paste it in a second time, hit connect, and it would work maybe a fourth of the time. The other times I got a CTD, a CTD with an exception error, and a lockup. But the 2 cycles of paste, connect did always get a log in.
Once I got in I checked all the bugs I remembered, but nothing else. They were all fixed! I did notice that the big screen was stuck on "incursion warning". I wanted to kick it and get it going, but could not find the "kick balky machinery" option.

Same deal here - can't type in pw field box, need to copy/paste instead and it seems 50/50 whether it will accept it even with copy/paste.
Once in station, I can move around but experiencing freezes, lag, random crashes, poor/slow performance. Undock resulted in black screen for several minutes. Was almost ready to force quit when suddenly I saw my ship again floating well away from the station and being locked..
If this is indicative of what is to come, I am really concerned.
CCP please don't break my EVE. Walking around a station is not enough compensation for pushing my machine to constantly freeze/crash. I want to fly my ships, not stare at a frozen virtual back and bum in dark small station room.

I'm getting the same problem. I can't get past the EULA screen at all. Please be aware that this is blocking me from participating in today's scheduled Mass Test.

If you got an old sisi prefs file in the trash, pull it out and put it in application support. Then you will not have to accept the EULA.
The PW entry bug did get fixed, as did the stuck view screen bug and the no right click bug.

I am still getting the PW bug even with today's fix. Would a fresh install fix it?

Maybe, but it worked for me. be aware, some people are getting a request to agree to the EULA and, nothing shows in the EULA window, including the "accept" button. I found using a prefs file from a few days ago, which had a record of my acceptance of the EULA, worked.

This was tracked down to a missing symlink in an updated Cider wrapper. If it's not in the build you're using, it should be in there tomorrow (at least the build will be done then, I can only assume it will be deployed promptly thereafter).

Issue persists in Macintosh build 271017, except now there's a scroll bar on the right-hand side of the EULA. I'll attach a new screenshot to my bug report.

The intended fix that was mentioned will not install on my computer. instead during the patching process, it throws me :
"evepremiumpatch271017_test-mac Error" "evepremiumpatch271017_test-mac Error"
with the following options.
"Visit MacPython Website | Terminate"
so, it has not exactly solved the EULA problem

àand now it's giving me "Cannot connect to [whatever IP sisi has]". Don't know if that's because Sisi is down or because the client is doing something wrong.

The cannot connect bug is due to sisi being down. I did get into the last mass test, and it basically worked, so I think we will be able to play Incana, just may have to dodge bugs.

I agree that it's looking like Incarna will be playable but buggy. I'm not too worried at this point but will still be setting long skills just in case. |
