with the new patch gunneryskills wont bring damage bonus any more so how will day payback my spended time on 11 gunerry skills ... i build an escort fighter with except longrange and 1 more gunnery skill .. and now CCP stealing my damage bonuses!
what will be their next step ? will they order us how to play our game? where ve been gone to skill advantages. if skills wont effect my damage every player with same stuff will have same advantage and at that point we cant talk about any advantage..........
i want my damage bonus back! sometimes i woke up from my sweet sleep and started another level for my skill trainings and now CCP takin them from me and u but with which right ?or for what?
if their excuse is preventing some safe for n00bs why didnt they bring a solution with corps at 0.5 and highr sec level systems? or why didnt they created -0.00 sec level systems?
i want my damage bonus back my speneded time back .... there is no real fun in the game right now except killing those NPC pirates and we were having fun with talkin about our damages it was a race for us. what is CCP tryin to do turn this game only a mining game? whhy are they killing PvP ?
if their excuse is Pirate players and n00b saving they can create better solutions about that .

if they wont fix that before they apply the patch they ay loose a customer and i am sure that i wont be the only guy who ll leave thsi game ! there are many online games giving more PvP like Planet side and others!

I'm flying a Rupture. With dual 425's. L4 small and medium turret skills, L3 surgical strike, 5 low slots to slap gyros/hyd stabilizers in I can get a 12.63 damx. That's pretty insane. I did a wrecking blow for 670. That would be pretty near half of any cruisers shields in ONE shot.
The only problem I see with lowering damage is it is going to make it real tough to keep someone pinned down long enough to actually kill them unless you hunt in a gang or massively outclass them.

If you knew anything about PvP you'd know that as it is right now "your damage bonus" is way too high and makes the game lame. Battleships going down in 5 seconds isn't fun.
The skills you trained will still give you a damage bonus it just won't be as high. If you had a lvl 5 skill it will still be better then a person with a lvl 3 skill you haven't lost anything.
This isn't a nerf it's a fix

I think the 'bug' that allowed small wpn skill to add to medium wpn damage was a pretty nice one, as it would give an incentive to train all skills.

Well put Damon,
As he said they bonus was being applied to your dammage after all the heatsynks and gyros leading to some pretty huge values.. It is applied now properly and fairly as it should..

I know what is comming next,
they kill the stacking of the accelleration controll with the AB's and MWD. So everyone is back to the basic speed + 20% for a AB. 5 sec from "drop out of warp" to "gating" is way to fast, it has to be at least 3 minutes.
they kill the miners, they mine way to fast. miner one max 30 ore per miner, on par with the drones, we dont want any miner to have any advantage over a totall n00b.
And dont forget that the shields and hulls of the ships have to be increased by a factor 10 so we can use "tactics". A nice 15 minutes slug fest at 2km from each other is the pinacle of fun.
Ok, enough of the ranting, everyone cries like mad when they loose there nice cruiser in under 10 seconds. The problem is that almost no one thinks about who shot them. The so called "exploiters" who's name shall not be mentioned here. The thing is thats all they do, combat, thats all they train, thats there expertise. So indead they should be able to kill you in under 10 sec flat, even without a lag fest. Same with a miner, a miner can get 2 mining skills and up to 10 drone's. Take a good ship with excellent equipment and he can mine an indy full in 5 minutes flat. Optimal that would be more then one ark refine per 5 mins, with the current mega prices thats over 15 mill per hour. Same with the research guy's, speed freaks you call it whatever job you want.
But you know what, i dont loose any ISK if some other guy can produce some ship slightly faster or slightly cheaper. I only need one ship and without pirates that ship will last me for the rest of my play time.
ps.
just saw the post about the projectiles and i agree. I got a projectile with 4.8 base damage modifier. After the next patch i dont think ill be able to reach such a modifier with beams (wich is my weapon of choice). oh, then it comes the rate of fire, well that is a none issue cause with some skills and some equipment i can bring down the rate of fire of the projectile to thae ROF of the beam, but i never can get the beam to use NO cap.

i think the 3% per level is a joke for a rank 4 skill, it should be at least 5% and maybe higher, kind of like the advanced refine skill. The bonus of the higher levels is not enough for the time spend.

They aren't stealing anything they are fixing it! The Surgical Strike skill, Rapid Fire skill and all the damage mods are NOT working as they should now, they will be FIXED in the patch to come Thursday (read the announcment forum, Pann posted something about moving it from Wednesday to Thursday...).
Yeah, to some it sucks because instead of having a uber damage mod of like 9.5x, they might have more like 7.1 (which is still VERY good!). So ******* what? It only means that fights will last a couple more *cough* seconds *cough* hehe

CCP's goal here it to create as much tedium to make even the most simple of tasks as time consuming as possible.
They are doing this in an effort to make up for a lack of content in the game.
The need to keep you all paying (well, me too) for as long as possible, and the best way to keep you from achieving your goals too quickly is to make it take you 3 minutes to approach a gate/station. _____ m0o

And before you think they're fixing *your* toys, they're not, they're fixing everyones toys.
And you skills will be more useful now than before.
But tbh I was getting a bit bored looting pirates, as no interaction was needed, just point in opposite direction, fire guns. It should take some brain now.. .

ah, i made no sence.
plain and simple all the nerfs that will happen are a result of the constant whining on these boards and will kill the gameplay for everyone. the only problem is that the nerfs only happen to one region of the game, damage modifiers. Let the devs take a lot of time to fix everyting about the guns, not only the damage but also the tracking, range, balance between the types, and so on. So comming friday we can not kill anyting anymore except noobs and 1k pirates.
oh, why is it that no one seem to write anything except some comment on someone's spelling or understanding of the english language. Its hard enough to write in an non native language even without being dislectic.

It really doesn't seem like ccp can't win in anything, me and a lot of other people complain about the obvious bugs in the game and then a few people complain that the bugs are being fixed.

and thsi thing will create a greate diss advantage for skilled players. We trained our skills so we must have and advantage against non-trained player.
what will b next step ? to save some baby **ses will they delete my character? my guns and ship ?
this is non sense u crying babys maybe like the idea to come sama position with skilled players but i really dislike that thing !
and now u ll see pirates camping around with more members what will u do than. start to cry CCP " oh pls bann their acccounts they are killing us "
say it man . u like the new patch because its saving ur *ss from bing a target and bringing advantage to u. but dont forget soon u ll be the targeter too and start to search for targets...

Skilled players (true skilled players), will perform well whatever CCP do in the code.
Some playstyle may get screwed, but here again, skilled players will be able to switch playstyle, they'll maybe lose in some extreme categories of the playerbase, but win in another.
Even if I actualy complain about hybrid ballance, if CCP doesn't do **** about it I'll just go for projectile and I'll be as much effective as I am today (efficiency relative to others players I mean, not to NPC, since we are all equal whatever the patching change to the game mechanics).
If what you call skilled player is a timesink fanatic, then maybe you should try Everquest, there "Time invested = Power" with no turnarounds.

No weapon class should be on top. If there were a 'top weapon' there would be a top ship according to race because of the bonuses for each level of ship skill. And a top weapon of that weapon class. Obviously that's too many 'tops' for a balanced game.
Hybrids because they have both ammo and cap limitations, should do hard damage very quickly. But they shouldn't be able to sustain that damage for very long because. But with the length of battles, that's no worry.

While the travel time is prolly to keep people playing longer, the same doesn't apply to ship combat. A longer battle would be more enjoyable, at least to me. Not because I don't know how to dust someone in the 1st volley or two. But because a longer battle would allow other skills and ship configurations to come into play. Right now, the only skills/modules getting any real use are weapons.
