I wanted to know a bit more about the big ships that hover not to far from the ground of the battlefield.
Like if they are accessable, almost like a staging point and deployment center... Like those titans in BF2142 which this game makes me want to play looking at it.
Or if its just eye candy floating in the sky only to be shot at.
That would be cool though if you could walk all arround your command ship, as well as adjourn to meetings on stations to talk with your corp and others face to face... I have so many questions and concerns with how the personal and social features of this game will be....

That cost will eventually change according to the regional market.

Seems that way, no one is 100% sure. Some thing we have to move them in place for the Dusties, others think they operate them themselves. Seems like they'll be the ones buying them so them operating them would make sense, but who builds them?

Eh yea, I hope we can walk arround on them, thats where I imagine the vehicles you requisition to the battlefield come from.

Yeah, I was wondering who is going to be gathering the resources and producing planetary vehicles. Seeing that Dust 514 and Eve will both have completely different markets from each other, the Dust Bunnies will be building them if they have the means to do so.

Only so much you can do on a console.....

Well, I think your underestimating the potential of the console if you're just thinking about the player being limited to a standard controller. The PS3 can utilize the keyboard and mouse, so there is potential in the PS3 if the Dust Bunnies are allowed to be self-sufficient mercenaries. But that is just pure speculation on my part, so we'll have to wait and see how it goes.
If Dust 514 ever does allow such a thing, I can imagine the power blocks that could emerge as players fight for the resources the same way we fight for technetium moons. Hehe, that would be awesome.
But then, that brings me to a disturbing question. One that requires its own thread.

That's got my brother-in-law a bit pi$$ed as he too doesn't have a PS3. From what they've already said, the game takes advantage of abilities found only on the PS3. Now, what those abilities are, I don't know.

Microsoft didn't allow CCP to distribute free expansions and updates.

You know some experianced modders will be able to probably emulate a PS3 to a computer. So it could be played from your desktop, while maybe you'll have eve running on an alternate computer. Sounds cool to me.

I would imagine the DUST-related ships and vehicles will be made using primarily PI materials. CCP has said that they want DUST players to be able to attack a planet and take it for themselves, so it would stand to reason that they would be able to produce things using the PI stuff they capture.

How would a Dust player take a planet for himself?.... Its not like they could be able to manage the industry and rescource processing and development of said planet.

How so? Factories can be built on planets, whos to say a DUSTy who took control of that factory can't do a production run of tanks? Remember, the two games are supposed to be able to survive independently. Not just if DUST dies, but also if EVE dies.

Edited by: Renan Ruivo on 19/06/2011 16:31:41 You can't play DUST on a PS3 emulator because DUST will be probably attached to sony's online service. And no console manufacturer supports third-party (and often times ilegal) PC emulators.
Besides, thats how sony rolls. They say they have an exclusive contract (like with GTA IV) and after it expires the developer completely disregards sony and just launch the thing for other platforms.
I'm not at CCP, but i don't think there are any other great MMO's that are exclusive to one console platform on the same scale that CCP is building dust to be.
If CCP wanted their games to be exclusive to a small portion of gamers, they wouldn't support 5 year old hardware for EVE. ____________

What concerns me is that my happy little PI facilities are going to be at risk of attack. I could see someone dropping in an assault force and leaving and then me having to deal with mercs wrecking my PI stuff while I watch impotently. Seems like a valid tactic in the ever evolving wormhole conflicts that I'm apart of.
